  • Does exactly what it says on the tin.....A nice coal fire. Makes me want to get a coffee and a slice of cake ;-)

    Thumbs up.

  • Wow, that looks and sounds really nice. What a beautiful unit.

  • yup, anthracite, being mostly carbon will burn w/ a blue flame; bituminous coal, having a higher volitile (hydro-carbon) content will burn w/ some smoke and a red/ orange flame - which is much more enjoyable for an open fire. In fact, anthracite is rarely used in open fires as it's almost impossible to keep burning easily in those conditions.

  • AAAAAAAaaahhhhhh!! Jist eih Feynist!! A Coal Fyre!!

  • No need to swear, but that is smoke I see, If thats a coal fire with smoke then it's Bituminous Coal. Not Anthracite which does not make smoke at all, and I hate to tell you it will give a Bluish burn at certain temps. sometimes purple even.

  • a coal fire has blue flames???? what the , coal fires do not have blue flames dick head

  • ohh, yes they do, coal burns more like natural gas

  • @jamesb8358

if its anthracite it does dick head. its got a ahigher carbon content and it burns hotter and not a large flame.

  • Sorry, this does not look like a coal fire, may be this is a fire being prepared to start a coal fire, coal fire has blue flames !

  • looks more like wood. sounds like it to

  • Nice.
