before the blast beat was invented....this was known as a one handed roll...its funny how metal drummers put their own tag on it..ha gravity blast beat...its actually very simple to do.

its called the free hand technique. the one handed roll doesnt use the rim to double hit. its a single stroke. gravity or free hand blasts are different
