Where is this festival at? I'd rather take a plane or trains dont' know how much it be from Missouri to whereever that's at.lol! i don't do th at well on highways!=).when is it?I'd be going once i move out on My own possbley move there!
thanks for sharing. I've lived in Breckenridge 4 about 5 yrs now and have never heard of this. I would love 2 go!
It really is SO sad/upsetting what is happening to the trees w/ the Pine Beetle infestation!! I've had 2 cut down & remove many trees from my property. I spray the healthy ones & that helps, but only so much. =( Also creates hazardous forest fire conditions. But, I try not 2 get 2 upset, there's only so much 1 can do & u don't want 2 lose site of the forrest 4 the trees. =)
Thank you for sharing this nice vid, NotSoOldHippy. I liked seeing the campgrounds and all. ~ Love the statue! I don't know if it would keep the door-to-door Christianity salespeople away, though. It might make them double their efforts. :p
"I don't know if it would keep the door-to-door Christianity salespeople away, though. It might make them double their efforts. :p"
I wonder. Most Christians, Muslims, and Jews might consider the statue to be a representation of a Christian "Satan" god. I should send a photo to the local Mormon cult and ask if it's good repellant. }:-]}
Every time I have been in CO it has rained. You would think it was Washington or something.
Very good photos. Thanks for sharing. Looks like the place was set up well. Did you eat good? I suppose David did having dedicated all that time in the kitchen.
"Looks like the place was set up well. Did you eat good? I suppose David did having dedicated all that time in the kitchen."
We arrived with no food, and I never eat what the kitchen produces despite much of it being vegetarian. Don't know why but I just never have.
People are willing to share their dinners and lunches with David and myself though we have to be careful to make sure there's no animal in it and I have to be careful of cheese and eggs. But yeah, we eat well every year.
"and that statue would keep more than the priests away from your door lol"
Can you imagine? I think my city would come out and try to fine me for various endless violations -- and make a few up on the spot. People put statures of the Christian gods and goddesses in their lawns and nobody cares -- but then unless it's a dried out male god on a stick wearing a diaper, they're usually fully clothed.
I hope your wife's travels are safe as are your return trip together. Great pictures. I had mentioned to Desertphile on his vid that a friend of mine's guardian bought a nice wooded piece of land and held pagan festivals there. Many of them visited his house and were very cool. A week in the woods with Wiccans and neo-pagans sounds like a good time.

Yeah, I read that. }:-} One does not need to hold religious beliefs and notions to enjoy hanging with Pagans and Wiccans. They're not extremists like Christians or Muslims; they don't preach or prostelize, they're against it.
Thanks! I've got another 800 miles to go but fortunately my wife's Jeep is in perfect condition. I don't drive -- I ride a bicycle and I hike everywhere I need to go. But I made sure that her vehicle is always in perfect running condition.
The vehicle we were in belonged to my oldest son and it was always a pile of crap. It's amazing that it got us to Colorado in the first place. }:-}
Fire and crows, mostly. The common black crow was exterminated in the American Southweast almost down to the very last crow thanks to an avian disease and parrots flew in to take up the ecological nich. Now crows are slowly coming back however the bark beetles have taken advantage and are taking over.
It's a horror. I hate seeing dead forests. It makes me angry as well as sad.
"i've been roaming the internet for info about a breeding program to bring them back. Found nothing. Is that about right?"
You know, I have never heard about any program. I have seen a few crows this year but they are very rare; I don't tink there's a breeding program scheduled.
Isn't that great! I need to make that frontal my desktop at work. }:-} In fact fuck yes, I'm going to do just that if I ever make it back to California.
While sitting here in this fucking hotel I should have been out walking around applying for software engineering work locally.
"Statue now trading from Wiccan High Priestesses, for an athame, Personal BOS and your soul. :)"
LOL! Rule #1: don't piss off the High Priestess when she has flying monkeys at her command. }:-}
I got a photograph of an excellent statue of the horned god, one which Christians probably would think represents one of their own evil gods. Man, I wish I had one of them for my front yard! LOL.
Do you plan on going to the 'fest next year? Andrew asked me that question about you, and I said I didn't know if all of your automobile problems has soured you on the 'fest.
"Bummer about still being in Frisco. Do you plan on going to the 'fest next year? Andrew asked me that question about you, and I said I didn't know if all of your automobile problems has soured you on the 'fest."
I'm STILL stuck in Frisco though my wife finally arrived so we will be heading back to California in the morning.
Yes, we will be going next year, absolutely! Abandoning the car is not a worry or a problem, we should have discarded it long ago. It got us there, any way.
By the way, if Andrew et al. want to come to the festival next year, I still think it would be a good idea -- at least once. If the old lady used to be a hippie, she would probably enjoy the festival and might get up and dance for us around the fire to the pounding beat of the drums and bagpipes! That would be epic.
Seriously, I think it would really kick if they came to the festival next year. She would know you and me and probably would fit in well with some of the old timers.

Someone has to wash the dishes and clean the litter box, and without me there would be nobody there to do it. So yeah, I'm worth it. }:-}
She arrived here at the hotel 5 hours ago and got a room in the same hotel. LOL, she had to get her own room because there are 4 of us here now.
I got the funniest look from the lady behind the counter when I told her I didn't need a bed.

Ah! You do have some worth then. Dishes can pile up, but the litter box is crucial. :-)
