You know, in Québec we are very close to hockey, especially in Montréal of course, and having a french-speaking coach for our hockey team is almost as important as having a french prime minister, lol. I agree that having a french coach isn't technically that important, but all the coaches since 1970 spoke french, so you got to respect the tradition. Luckily Cunneyworth is just an interim, so I guess all this gonna be forgotten next season.

Considering you cannot move the puck backwards during a penalty shot, this goal should not have counted. Not to mention backing over the goalie. If it was allowed then everyone should try it.

@biggym111 actually the spin-o-rama move is allowed. "The spin-o-rama type move where the player completes a 360° turn as he approaches the goal, shall be permitted as this involves continuous motion." right from the nhl rules.

@biggym111 The puck can move backwards. Just the player can't. As long as he is going forward, he can move the puck backwards. Also, he backed into and ran into the goalie after the shot.

@coolhwhip49 Wrong! NHL Rule 24.2 "The puck must be kept in motion towards the opponent’s goal line and once it is shot, the play shall be considered complete." Clearly the puck moved away from the goal line during the spin-a-rama, and should have been disallowed. IMHO.
