Fillers are used specifically when the anime is cutting it seldomly close to the manga's plot. To remedy this, they create fillers to make the anime fall back to an extent that's acceptable -- but in Naruto/Bleach's case, it's becoming ridiculous. The anime is no where NEAR the manga, so why keep milking the storyline of it's interest with unecessary filler arcs?

Actually, when Bleach started the filler, the Ulquiorra-Ichigo fight was still going on (I think?), now bleach ep. is 266, manga=400, so bleach ep 226 should be at the same time when manga 360 came out, so pretty much around the I-U fight.

I really needed to watch this because I'm so mad at the Bleach fillers... No continuity with the manga, terrible animation, bland storylines, the characters don't develop or even behave like themselves (Rukia in the manga-anime arcs is much more badass (same with Byakuya and others) than in the fillers, Ichigo's attacks are weaker (and so is his personality) in fillers...etc). I never should have watched the fillers. It's messing with the Bleach universe and my mind.
