  • Not bad for an AWD dodge neon.

  • I suppose what I lacks in suspension travel it *sorta* makes up for with limited slip axles. My stock ranger would make it up that rock in 2wd simply becuase all 4 wheels would stay on the ground....

  • Nice!

  • patriot = excuse for jeep garbage.

  • @JeepGCOverland47 Come on now, be nice.

I'm a GC owner myself, but considering the price, gas mileage and off-road performance, the Patriot is a good buy in my opinion. That 4.7 H.O. is definitely killing you at the pump.

  • @mtb416 Yep..ive just sold my 04 GC 4.7

We pay about $8 a gallon here in the UK.had to go for a something more economical

  • @JeepGCOverland47 I dunno. I know a lot of people who would say the same, but this vid shows that there's a lot of potential in this little dude. Hey, nobody liked the original GPV when it did the Army trials back in 1940, but they said "what the hell" and look what happened with that.

  • I wonder how long a CVT transmission will hold up to this abuse?

  • 4x4 is not damaged by walking on solid ground?

no se daña la 4x4 por andar en terreno firme?

  • Not bad for a mini van!

  • HaHa, pathetic. My stock wrangler could do this in two wheel drive, and my built Cherokee wouldn't even notice it. Disgrace to the Jeep name.

  • @myers1209 well, the wrangler and cherokee(XJ) are more of hard core off roaders, the patriot isnt,it is pretty amazing that the patriot can do that in stock form.

they are still pretty capable, just not as capable as the XJ's and wranglers.

  • I just bought a 09 patriot today. I love the damn thing, my first vehicle excellent choice. Roomy good gas mileage plus I got an awesome deal on it.

  • I have a 2011 Patriot and it doesn't have the FD II package. but it can still do some climbing. The bad boy is under estimated. It can pull off some sweet stunts!

  • Awesome climb. I am very impressed with what the FD II package can do.

  • wow. a bump. l2jeep.

  • As a guy with an XJ, I hate to say it but I'm impressed. I never thought one of those little turds would do that well. I'm still of the opinion that it isn't a real Jeep though.

  • what does the fdII add to the 4wd patriot? does it lock the axles or sumthing?

  • Nice! to get down.............

  • if this were a hummer h3 doing the exact same thing, you'd get a bunch of hate comments about how's it's just a trail blazer witha different body. What the fuck do you think thing is? It's built on a fucking car. You should be embarrassed to call it a jeep.

  • @nouseforausername794

i have a 2007 jeep compass i have replaced the alternator twice in 120,000km talk about a joke not to mention the rear subframe issues and all the other problems ive had.... terrible quality! and its not just me tierod and all the other failures ive had are posted all over the internet on the jeep forums! boo jeep

  • Im struggling to find a very large downside to this car. From what I've heard it gets decent mileage, it can go offroad some, and is a good daily driver. Of course the interior and drive aren't amazing, but I drive a Sentra currently so I don't think this would be a step down at all

  • @PantstofryPWNZ I just traded my Sentra in on this. Personally? I do not miss the Sentra. it's roomier, get's about the same gas millage (maybe about 3-5 mpgs less) and what not. This thing is worth it.

  • @thefamousb Oh I'd trade in my Sentra for this, for sure. Only thing is, now my friend is selling his 2011 Mustang at a very good price, and my wild side wants it real bad haha.

  • @PantstofryPWNZ I don't miss my sentra sr one bit! I'm glad I traded. I feel more manly in my "mini-commander" haha! & the chicks dig it. Just because it's a jeep! haha!!

  • @thefamousb Yeah the only thing is that I can only find them in that CVT... I'd take my sentra's gearbox over the CVT in the Jeep, that's the only thing.

  • @thedeatchcrawler. For stock thts pretty good and you keep goin and alot of tht is driver

  • Yea man, never doubt a Jeep

  • @TheDeathCrawler ... it's not like we LIVE offroad. Why would he, or I, or anyone buy an old gas guzzler when 98% of use is as a daily driver? This is a perfectly good vehicle for getting to work and back with the option of taking it offroad on weekends every now and then. As for myself, when i have enough money and time to buy an old Jeep and build it for offroad, I will.. til then this is a perfect car for DD, family and fun.

  • That shits not extreme and your junk jeep is not trail rated. Almost though, you just need to sell it and buy a real rig. That thing is made for the wife to take to the mall. Stupid people buy these jeeps and think that since it says jeep it must be good. You can go the same places in a Subaru outback lol.

  • i wish my patriot was a 4x4 :(

    still love her though

  • what a boat

  • Excellent. Very impressive

  • Pretty good for a stock patriot I think.

  • It's Jeep .. .it's American (part Italian), so it's all good far as I'm concerned. Way better than one of those drag queen FJ Cruisers.

  • Ummmm.....in no way is this extreme rock crawling.

  • @ihatevegans Extreme is relative - go make your own video of your Kia or Honda Pilot wheeling at the local mall and then run your mouth numbnuts. At least it's a Jeep: American when a lot of sell-outs are buying Asian these days.

  • This is amazing.....I always looked down my nose at these Jeeps, which I'll never do again after watching this video. When the Compass/Patriot first debuted, I remember the marketing surrounding it highly touting the Freedom Drive II system and the CVT's 19:1 "low range", but I never once saw it in action. Jeep should be using THIS EXACT video as promotional material. It works so effortlessly and perfectly, you can really see all the technology in motion. I even like the looks of this one!

  • We love our Patriot...we have a FWD...We get 30 MPG as well... I don't get these people that buy a Camry or Prius when they can have one of these for nearly half the price. We bought ours OTD for 14,000...the clearance is great on them compared to a small car...and there is plenty of room especially compared to a small car. I have a 4x4 truck so we bought this as our grocery getter / vacation vehicle and we love it. Plus its made in Illinois...(that's still America right lol)...

  • Hey buddy, wanted to let you know I'm a Jeep Dealer and we used your video as our Facebook Car Video of the Day. Hope that helps with your number of hits!

Look for Junction Auto Family of Chardon Ohio on Facebook to see it. Happy Off Roading! :)

  • @snowman44077 Thanks. Hope it helps you move a few Jeeps out the door

  • this is like the american cheaper not as skilled version of the land rover lr2, if i had the money id get one of those, but for a bdget, on of these, or an old wrangler, but nice viid, thumbs up.

  • I think I found the perfect car for me....A Jeep Patriot with the off road pack!!! Yeah!!!

Good power, good MPG, great off road....better than the Liberty in fuel economy, better than the Vitara in Off Road capabilities...I want a Patriot!!

  • i wonder when you drive down the rocks what wil happen! im sure it will be fuked up for sure

  • I've got FDII on my '08, love it, hill descent control, gearing down with cruise control, etc and the engine runs smoother than a rolex. THE best in-its-class 4X by far, light and great on fuel too. Makes Ford Escape or the Jap-tries look like a dummies try at making a Jeep Patriot, lol.

  • hola una pregunta que version es esta patriot? es 4x4???????

  • Bad ass! Do you highly recommend this vehicle? How many miles have you put on it? Any issues thus far?

  • im a land rover fan, but im impressed by wut it just did, but i want to see a freedom drive ll go up against a lr2, forget the price, the off road capability i want to see. this would be a nice little truck 4 someone if they r getting there first car, im 14, and would consider it, but i like extreem off roading, so my parents land rover disco will do lol :) still nice vid.

  • Ok, wheres the REAL Jeep off camera, pulling him up...

    :P lol

  • impressed. Now to try it with my NOT trail rated 07

  • Get a Trail Rated version if you can find one or get one built.

You'll get some nice extras that way.

  • Haha wow I wouldn't call this extreme, but for a vehicle I wouldn't have expected to climb a parking curb, I'll have to say I'm very impressed 5 stars

  • meh.

  • pretty epic man, never thought a patriot could do this

  • I had an 08 for about 3 months. 8 point buck totaled it. The whole front end just collapsed like a pop can.

  • thats very impressive

  • I am giving one of these Jeep Partiots away in support of Help for Heroes for just £1 - Check me out on Face Book Mike Buss Beyond Impossible there will be a text service set up very shortly.

  • A friend of mine wanted to buy a Patriot, but was'nt sold on it's Off-Road ability. I told her about the Freedom Drive II ORG, then showed her this video. She ended up ordering a Patriot with the FD II ORG. GREAT video!!! I am amazed at what that Jeep can do!

  • Wow

  • nice !!

  • not bad!

  • damn! those little plastic jeeps are more badass than youd think!!

  • @felando2002 Plastic? Teere's more metal on and in Patriots than Wranglers ;-P Though they are street/commuter-minded they are fun and satisfactory off-road.

  • @felando2002 Plastic?

  • hi! i've just bought a 09 patriot sport, can i do that?

your patriot is 4x4, right? the mine is not ):

  • sorry to disagree with you.. but your'e wrong

  • ok sorry, in italy all version of patriot have the double traction 4x2 ---> 4x4

    (sorry for my english)

  • thats not true u have to look for it on the jeep.

  • ok it wasnt stupid but it was crazy you coul've flipped but awesome jeep i might get one

  • Jeep needs a lift. Rocky Road Outfitters makes one.

  • with the fd II package the 5 speed isn't an option right?

  • no the 5 speed is only avalible with the FD 1 or the FWD. the CVT is only on the FD2

  • Does your jeep have the lift kit thats floating out there? Contemplating buyingone of these but just not sure if it is as capable off-rod as a wrangler...

  • definitely no as capable as wrangler is, even with the lift kit and bigger tires. they are cool little suvs though

  • The thing is I am a fly -fishing guide and university student and I drive around 45km daily to school ( highway driving ). I nee something which can handle some pretty bad backroads to bring clientel fising but it also needs to be fuel efficient and smooth on the highway, I think the patriot may fit the glove with the FD II package and lift kit.

  • now how did they get down from there?

  • Geeze you're right, i cant find one ANYWHERE, i've been looking non-stop for a good while and have come up short, hopefully i'll get lucky and one pops up... Thanks for the info man, i appreciate it...

  • You have balls my friend... I guess i'm purchasing one of these afterall! Wow how a lil video can influence you.. What kind of options do i need to make my Jeep do that! ( besides the skills lol)

  • The only option that is important is the Freedom Drive II 4WD. That is the "Off-Road" package. About 90% of the 4WD Patriots are NOT FDII. So sometimes a little hard to find but in my book its totally worth it if you do much off-highway traveling

  • how do you tell id you have the FD 2 package on the Patriots?

  • @01mtnlite it will have the trail rated emblem and it will also have the cvt transmission with the crawler gearing

  • @spanky8532 Buy a real Jeep hahaha, but really those things are great for MPG's that's about the only reason they exist. If you want an off road machine stick with the Wrangler or the older Cherokee XJ and the Grand Cherokee's.

  • i want it now!

  • awesome vid!!! just bought mine today, i love it i love it i love it!!!! i live in florida, too bad theres not many places to off road here!

  • Ocala...only place i know.

  • wow. i'd be scared shitless if i were trying that lol.

  • very impressive for a patriot

  • i wasnt expecting that

  • THATS THE SHIT!! rofl, i cant stop lookin at these vids!

  • hahahah, you are so right :) BABY JEEPS !!! they dont make them as they used to

  • better take that EXTREME out from the title

  • I think it's fitting... it looks about as extreme as the car can handle. Ergo it's extreme for this car - maybe not for other cars or tanks but for this car... yes! :)

  • Could it to this with the FD1? I am thinking obout bying the Patriot but in Norway they only offer it with FD1 and the 2.0 Diesel engine!

  • I"m sure the FD1 wouldn't be able to do that, but its worth a try, the brake lock differentials on the FDII patriot are what makes this possible.

  • I am also considering purchasing the 2.0 Diesel FD1... Have you purchased it yet?! Hvis så klarer du dette?! ;)

  • HAHA Yes that is awesome, its about time we got videos like this showing off the Patriot and what it can really do!
