On this Holiday weekend.. had a chance to tour the battleship Texas..and San Jacinto monument I actually got to hang out .. " In the engine room " and and the Boiler room .. I kept humming and ...no -one was getting where I come from !! God Bless You MIKE WATT . Hat's off to your Father ! and thanks for putting this experience to song and pen ..
The old Doll Hut! Man, the good old days. I somehow managed to miss this show. Saw so many good ones there though. I remember The Ziggens used to play there a lot. They were fun. Wonder if they're still around?
Nels Cline rules my world. First guitarist I've ever heard whose playing isn't immediately and obviously influenced by Hendrix. Fucking mindblowing. Meanwhile, big thanks to Mike Watt for "Contemplating the Engine Room." That album changed my life.
How is it that only 8457 people have watched this? A clear sign the world is going to hell in a hand cart. One of the best albums/tours in history. Thanks for posting - I never made it to Linda's - but saw the very last opera show at the Viper Room in LA...
@VynRumbold HA! That is the friendliest, most thoughtful, sour social commentary I have heard in a while and I must agree 100% Audio and video has so much potential that is typically unreached. Oh well, let the topsiders look pretty and we will simply keep the boat moving.
what sort of guitar is that -jaguar, mustang or jagstang-can never really tell them suckers apart? sure looks like p-90 pickups. fantastic live sound. this rocks!! or fusions!! or jazzes!!
Seriously, has Watt ever played with musicians that were ever just ok? They guy has played with the best musicians for almost three decades now. Stop hoggin! well, no... because it's amazing music. But, hmm... wanna jam sometime? I'm ok, so I'll be the first ok player you've ever shared notes with... huh? huh?

Heard hints of Robert Fripp from "Sailor's Tale" from the album "Islands" in the opening guitar solo.

I hear Mile's influence in a lot of Nel's playing. Glade to see I'm not the only one. Great video!
