Re: Cable Management. This is a modular power supply so it is very easy to clear out the cabling. This was a quick throw together for demonstration purposes. A better case will also give you the routing option behind the board. This system is using tri-channel (after the video is done as well). At the time not all of the memory I would have liked was available (24GB Ripjaw). There is one inaccuracy here and that involves LGA1366, which was a i7 only chipset.
@Windows7Forums hey im going to install the same psu as you with a Gainward GeForce GTX 560 ti Golden Sample, my pc has an i5 - 2400 @ 3.10GHz will the psu be ok coz ive heard its kind of a bad part but i dont have much money so i had to go budget but i only intend to use the psu for a month and a half then im getting a much better one, any advice would be good :)
@oHKCOLEo You'd be saying uh a lot to if you were throwing over a thousand dollars of equipment together while holding a hand-held camera and giving a narration when you know you only have 15 minutes to demonstrate it. As for all others who enjoyed the video, and found some use from it, thanks and glad you enjoyed it.
I'm looking at buying a board similar to the one you have, but I'm a little worried about the pcie x1 slot. Is there enough room for a card with the chipset heatsink there, would there be enough clearance over the top of the heatsink?
Nice vid. I was looking at buying this cooler. But read alot of reviews about size probelms with it. Do you think it will fit in a Coolermaster RC-690-KKNI-GP Mid tower? Has a Gigabyte EP45-UD3L MOBO.
The board showed in the video is a Gigabyte X58-UD5, socket 1366, 12 phases, Triple-Channel supporting board (9:19). I had one just like that before upgrading to the X58A-UD7. Now, there's a new X58A-UD5 model, the rev 2.0 with 16 phases
0:13 What?? The socket 1366 DOES NOT have support for Core i5 or Core i3 CPUs; those are 1156 socket CPUs -- the new Intel "SandyBridge" or "Generation 2" CPUs are supported by 1155 socket boards
Wow, I hardly learned a thing. Don't you think that setting up your CPU, and CPU fan is NOT best to leave for LAST? You didn't show how you got that heat sink device placed underneath, but you did mention it was difficult, and I bet you did a lot of cursing during that time. It would have been a thousand times easier had you done this BEFORE you put all the other components on the board. Seemed like a very amaturish video to me. Wobbly view, no detail, just blah blah. Very boring to me. JMHO
@Patferr You came to youtube to learn how to build a computer? What a fucking NOOB!! Read a book and take the information and build your own... If you're that ignorant what gives you the ammunition to post shit on this guys video?
just wondering. besides tigerdirect and newegg what are some other good computer parts sites? love the videos i'm a computer builder myself and i'm always looking for a good deal on parts. thanks in advance
great. i got the rampage iii extreme i think with i7 sandybridge and two nvidia 590. i did want the gigabyte sniper motherboard though.

That's a very nice computer, I built one with the same specs (except an i5 instead of an i7).
I think your cable management is a little bit messy.
