Sounds good guys, stay on it and keep practicing. Dynamics are really important, I know its not as easy as it sounds.. Try to listen to the sound of the whole ensemble. I think its a great idea to analyze these pieces (complete scores) and see what the composer is doing harmonically.. since the individual parts may sometimes be very static, and not give away to what exactly the composer is implying (per part). Im impressed at your time, good luck and most importantly.. be shure to have fun!
guys. too slow. Ravel was VERY particular about ALL of his markings, and a lot of quartets today completely ignore them. I think it is always a good thing to at least start with what he asked for, and make changes as necessary so you can get the most out of the piece.
In response to felseylax, string quartets are rarely named... they are just called "composer's string quartet no. 1" etc. It's not like "String Quartet of Evil Bees" by Maurice Ravel....

Hmm...off the top of my head, I can think of several "named" quartets (even though the Ravel is not one). What about:
Death and the Maiden Quartet - Schubert
Rasumovksy Quartet - Beethoven
Hunt Quartet - Mozart
6 Haydn Quartets - Mozart
Rider Quartet - Haydn

french music is beautiful, but needs a lot of thinking, and the right emotion, never with a
brutal aproach

It's a very difficult piece, I think you're on the right way. Keep practicing, especially the second violinist.
