i hav a ques. - why didnt seigfried suspect odille when they danced? as through how odille was dancing her arrogance clearly was visible and seigfried could hav felt it when he held her in his arms, when odette dances there's grace and subtlety along with humility.
There are a lot of endings to swan lake. The most popular is when they both drown in the lake. Another which I think this might be is when Siegfried and Von rothbart are fighting and odette gets killed accidentally. There is also one were siegfried and Von rothbart die and the spell is broken but odette is left alone. The only happy ending is when they beat Von rothbart and the spell is broken and they live happly ever after!!!
@SoraIchigo9 Here: The lovers realize that the spell cannot be broken because of Siegfried's accidental pledge to Odile. In order to complete and fulfill the pledge initiated in Act 2 by Siegfried to Odette, ultimately making it possible for the lovers to stay together, Odette and Siegfried leap into the lake and drown. This breaks von Rothbart's spell over Odette and the other swans, causing him to lose his power over them, and he dies as a result.
WOW!! That was just stunning!! I didn't understand very much this end, but I think Odette died and the other swans became humans. Well, I don't think it's its supposed to have a happy end, in the version I watched live some years ago Odette became a human, but died. I love tchaikovsky music!!
@annamasuna It's not in the 'Swan Lake'. 'The Dying Swan' is another, separate ballet, the music to which was written by Camille Saint-Saens (a french composer), not Tchaikovsky. The original choreographer for it was Mikhail Fokin (russian choreographer), and it was choreographed for the legendary russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.
If yr time = so valuable, don’t waste it here. U clearly got more important things 2 do – like maybe uploading something unique 2 share w/ every1, as arta’s done 4 us?
Say what? U have never posted ANYthing here? (True! Not 1 of the crybabies has posted even 1 vid!)
So u *really* got nothing 2 say, do u? Xcept the apologies u owe arta, u ingrate twerps.
My goodness how do they stay en pointe for so long! I know that the shoes are specially designed to help them, but still, it must require so much strength from the core and legs.
But what´s the true ending? Both of them die or they fight against the evil and both of them survive? In this case the only one who survives is Sigfredo not the white swan. Althought I think his heart has died too...
Great upload, but you honestly need to stop advertising your channel, and putting the little intros at the beginning of each video, it really distracts people and ruins the pacing of the ballet
What a beautiful performance.. cannot avoid to shed a few tears.. beautiful music, sad story... thank you for uploading this, I've been wanting to see it for ages!!
Thank you for posting this classical ballet. I am very limited in my options to enjoy such wonderful cultural arts; however, I do not feel it is fair to the artists to plagarize their work for your own advertising. At least not while the performance is in progress.
Wow!!! Overall, very very good, especially loved the last three acts. Feel so sorry for poor Odette at the end. :( In some versions both the Prince and Odette survive and in others they both die, it's sad that they seem to be separated in this version (unless I miunderstood). Thanks for posting!!
I'd love to dance ballet, but I think it's not my thing. Insted of dancing, I can always watch ballet and I love classical music<3 It's the most beautiful music in the world.
Arta, thank You for a historic posting. The Kirov,Russia, the cradle of ballet.Sure the prod. is Hollywoodesque, So what? It's magnificent in it's old style.Waiting in the wings was the young goddess Makarova and God Baryshnikov...BTW, that is the cutest little girl I've ever seen in that picture.
Generally, I dislike film-ballets:choppy editing, annoying zoom-ins,fade-outs, etc. The performance of Yevteeva and Markovsky, however, was danced well. May I suggest that you dispense with the advertisement for your channel; those watching are allready on your channel. It is redundant and distracts from the viewer's pleasure. Nevertheless, thanks for this video!
I felt it... I was perfect...

Sooo. I like that he was carrying her and it made it look like she was flying.
But I'm confused
How did she technically die in this version? It wasn't from any fall I saw other than maybe the Prince dropping her. :)

rebel69rebel 1 year ago
@rebel69rebel there are many versions of the swan-lake-ending:
1.siegfried dies, but odette lives
2.odette dies because she saved siegfried (so hes alive)
3. both die
4. both survive an live happily ever after
i think this is the 4th ending =)
