I do not think you do understand that these are norms in wars. That is why POWs do exist. The Guneva Convention made it an international law, recognize and force humanitarian treatments to all injured people, not to kill civilians, and so on.

Hamas IS NOT Fatah. They do not recognize the right of ISrael to exist. Until they do no peace or even talk of peace is possible. Israel needs to give back land, freeze settlements to get the peace process moving. Israel is there, is not going away. Israel is not free of error or misdeeds in this situation. Both sides need to put history to the side, accept reality and start talking. How many chilren have to die because of the stupidity of the leaders of both sides.

The problem is that Israel cannot acknowledge the root cause for rockets being fired from Gaza: the blockade and long-term treading water with regards to a free Palestine state. They see rockets and think the only cause is Hamas is evil and wants to destroy Israel; thus they ignore the root cause and so there will never be a solution through bombs. The root problems remain unsolved.
