What the hell? After taking what seems to be the second biggest moonsault ever,(second to Teddy Hart's world record moonsault) the guy kicked out at a 1. Not great ring psychology with that one at all. Before and after that, the match was great.

1. It took Miyamoto about 10 seconds to get to Sasaki to cover him

2. Miyamoto just laid down on Sasaki (not a good pin)

3. Sasaki is the death match champion, he can take a lot of punishment

Even still, that wasn't very smart. After a hit like that, it would be out. Or at least a 2.99 count.

I'm not trying to degrade Sasaki's abilities or anything, I'm just saying that it would have been smarter to do that. Since it took the 10 seconds to get there. If he had immediately covered him, that should have been the match.

You are new to japanese wrestling aren't ya? Look, the kickout at 1 is a very common thing in Puro-bigmatches and an important part of their psychology. See, it's a psychological trick: after taking a move like that, he's obviously extremely exhausted, and not going to end the match just with his bare physical strength. So he kicks out at one to get the crowd behind him and to freak his opponent out in a "SEE THAT YOU AIN'T GOT NO SHIT ON ME WITH YA SHITTY MOVES"-way. Part of the king's road.
