Seems to me that Lagemann goes over the center a lot to catch passes, or he's always grabbing balls when defenders are in the immediate vicinity, so he gets hit. He always maintains possession, though, and that's a credit to his skills.

He always goes down, but that's just his style. I remember when I played football (middle school nonsense) and was wide receiver, I always had this instinct to jump into the air to make the catch. I wonder if it is a similar thing, that instinct tells him to fall on the ball to secure the catch. If this is so, better than dropping it. He may never be a sensational playmaker, but he brings something cal is lacking, CONSISTENCY. He is great for slants over the middle and third downs
