  • I wish I'd have kept my '72! She was a great car! My first love!

  • Man, this is awesome, a car which is 40 years old but really isn´t...imagine someone offers you to experiment today a car designed many years ago, that won´t rattle, have leaks or anything related to an old car...because it is new, LOL...I would love to take it for a drive, beautiful piece of history.

  • I don't understand German, but what I think is that you could restored the 40yrs old car 2002 w/Original parts still after 40yrs???? IS THAT SO????for real???I wonder if the actual parts of today Are the same quality of yesterday in the 70's???of the 2202 or any other Madel of BMW???

  • @LittleModig

it was said in the Video that 90% of all parts that are needed for this car are still available.

This is the thing with nearly all BMW models. I am rebuilding a E30 and with one exception all parts were still available

  • @LittleModig nah man, todays quality is usually way worse, because now they can use cheaper materials and less of it to make similar parts are only last five or so years.

  • My Atlantic blue 2002 was manufactured 39 years ago (Jan. 18, 1971) and I picked it up at the factory three weeks later. It definately needs some of those special interior spare parts!

    ---

Vor 39 war mein BMW 2002 in Atlantikblau gebaut. Ihn habe ich etwa drei Wochen später ab Werk in München abgeholt. Heute braucht er einigen von den Ersatzteilen - vor allem in Innenraum.

  • mechanical masterpiece! 5 stars

  • If only I could get these techs to service my car.

  • i thinks its awesome to see a car get restored to its former glory. 2002 rocks!!

  • I don't think restored is the right word here. This is built with new parts in 2006!

  • @itekani Oh my god. I will order a new bmw in the near future like that.

So they manufatured an entirely new model? Was it the own bmw factury who did it?

    Superb.

  • @Necroman666 This was just a one-off to show that it could be done, I guess. I don't think many people has the budget to buy all the parts needed. ;)

It was build by BMW Mobile Tradition

  • @itekani well mate, i guess they do it. they must...

if not well.. if i had load for it i'd definitly order one, with all pieces bought.

  • BMW still provides 95% of the parts for the 2002...

  • Woot??? No other manucafter does that...

  • the 1973 bmw 2002 live again

  • I don't know German, but rate this video a 9.5. Excelent. Was the drive train and motor rebuilt also, or new, any one know? thanx.

  • the engine was used but completely restored

  • ausgeizeigtnet! aber kein "Bondo" - was ist loss!?

  • Ja gut blah blah blah Orange ! hahha

  • What a great vid. Toyota don't keep parts stock for not much more than 6 years.. That's why I'll be buying BMW next time (among other reasons).

  • god work

  • Great video, that car must have been as wanted as that new M3 is now. Well done. Wonder if anyone has anything on the 2002 tii Alpina, they are apparently far more expensive than the 2002 Turbo.
