GTA IV was the first game in the GTA series I was disapointed with personally. It wasn't a bad game but it wasn't anywhere close to being as good of a game as GTA San Andreas. GTA San Andreas was in my view the greatest game of all time. All the games of the GTA series from the first one up to San Andreas improved from what the last game was. Although Vice City was great San Andreas was a better game. GTA IV wasn't nearly as good as either of them.

@curlyhead94 I am generally a big fan of realism in video games. But that cartoonish feel to GTA was part of the appeal I thought. It was realistic enough that you could relate and identify to it but cartoonish enough to be fun and funny as hell and you couldn't take it to serious. I still got all the old GTA games and am about tempted to play San Andreas again before long, it's been a while. But I traded GTA IV about 2-3 weeks after I got it.

@BradNC11175 I think Your right about the cartoony thing but it could still remain cartoony with some more detail and better graphics, a bit like Saints Row. I had GTA SA on my PC some years ago and but recently I had to re-buy it on the xbox because after playing GTA 4, I missed it so bad. I replayed it a couple of months ago and it was so fun and brought back good memories since I had forgotten most of the story, despite how engaging it was.

@BradNC11175 I really hope GTA 5 will be more like SA but I think Saints Row and GTA have now taken different routes, Saints Row being unrealistic and fun, GTA being realistic and moderately fun but ending up tedious. Where to you think/hope GTA 5 will be set? I wish London because I used to live there but mainly because I think it would be an interesting setting and contrasting with other GTAs but since they are trying to be realistic now I dont it would be suitable with the UK's tough gun laws

@curlyhead94 I couldn't stand the first Saint's Row, there have been a lot of copy cats of GTA over the years and some of them have been ok, others have sucked and I thought Saint's Row 1 was about the worst. Saint's Row 2 was very much improved over the first one and I liked it. I hear that Saint's Row 3 is going to be more serious too. I'd love to see a return to Vice City but I am open to options. Friends in Britain tell me there are plenty of guns there for the crooks, just not good guys lol

No music, hardly any real humor, and handling the vehicles was a nightmare. The cheats codes were boring, too.

@Kelly14UK To me San Andreas was amazing with all the crazy shit you could do in it: go to the gym, fly helicoptors, get a hair cut, play video games on a damned video game (lol), get fat, get skinny, get muscular or what ever. It was funny as hell and the entertainment value was off the charts, thats exactly why you could play it 100 times over and it would still be fun the 99th time and you could play it again now and still have fun. That aint the case with GTA IV, as you say no humor.
