  • i think i may have a similar issue. i can hear a slight knocking/spitting sound coming from my bike, especially at low rpms in 1st/2nd gear. i had to replace my front spark plug not too long ago (replaced 'em both), and within' a month or two, the front had to be replaced again. not sure if i didn't have it set it well, or what. the noise still remained, but replacing the plug worked for a day, then the new plug wouldn't fire.. so i took it out, cleaned it off, and placed it back in - works now

  • now i have to figure out why i have to press the starter button over and over before my bike will start up - and what that noise is - i think may be coming from the carbs.

  • spit back though the carbs Is usually caused by a weak mixture. remove carb and check pilot jets, it looks like they are blocked.

Your vid was a while ago, did you get it fixed?

  • the problem was simple..the carbs came loose from where it was joined to the engine and so there was a vacuum leak

once I tightened up the connection the problem was fixed

  • Nice one! glad you got it sorted blitzficken if the problem occurs again a spot of loctite stud lock will do the trick. Did your carbs have spring washers fitted or have they been omitted.

    ride safe :-)

  • i guess i could try this over the weekend. hope it works. i just know something isn't right. i don't want to have to take it in, but i can't for the life of me figure out why it will not start until i press the starter button 5 billion times.

  • yeah id agree with pinkpanther, sounds like its not firing everytime on the front cylinder, its just a small amount of unburmt fuel being pushed back up through the carb, id replace the spark plugs on both cylinders anyway then maybe the leads, depending on the milage of the engine it might be a build up of carbon, stick some redex down the cylinder via sparkplug hole and leave for half an hour, turn the engine over without the spark plug in to remove the surplus redex then relace the sparkplugs

  • hi, are u definite it's a carb problem? because mine did the same thing when the front cylinder wasn't firing because the front spark plug was damp and corroded.
