i prefer Keitel in the club scene in "Bad Lieutenant" to the tune of "Let's Get High" by Lords of Acid... it's just cooler and more chaotic, but that's just me
Meanstreets -Martin Scorsese's Accidental Masterpiece....De Niro's Debut, ....But I Always Modelled Myself on Harvey Keitel... -Difficult, Conflicting Priorities, -As For Every Young Man....
did you ever hear? of a wish sandwich? well its the kind of a sandwich that you's supposed to take: 2 pieces of bread, and *wish* you had some meat :)))))
@deniseaustinlover I completely agree, also, Scorsese's films have had some of the best pieces of music used in his movies, and "Casino" has the best soundtrack of any movie that I've seen
@WeJustGotColorTV More like "obscure" (than "lesser known). It is without question, one his his best movies. IMO, it is probably 1 of the best movies of it's kind/genre & arguably 1 of the best to come out of the 1970's "New Hollywood" era. It's 1 of my all time favorite movies. I bought in on VHS & then DVD, & I also have an .avi. I watch it at least once a year. It's just 1 of "those" movies. To add or subtract any part to/from the film, would literally be an act of film vandalism.
THIS IS IT!!! When Tony tells Michael to "play only oldies tonight".....check out what hes got in his left hand!!! Gin with an AQUA VELVA chaser! I wanna party with this crew!!! And the music ain't too bad either!!!
I remember that feeling. Wait, never mind... I can't remember... lol
Pure genius on the song choice. Nothing like a little upbeat doo-wop scat to keep you oriented. xD

Not to be picky, but this version of the song was not done by the Blues Brothers; it was done by the Chips.

Nowadays, this is actually a lesser-known Scorsese picture. It's a shame, because it's one of his best.

This is a brilliant scene which is a great snapshot of the craziness of 70s New York.
That song is totally crazy and he looks completely wrecked, and probably not just on booze. :)
