Congratulations! I received a similar proposal like your first one...meaning I had a bad day and my husband pulled out a ring. However, he didn't redo the proposal. Mmmm....in my opinion marriage does make a difference based on my personal experience. At least in the US, being married allows me to get insurance through my husband. Hubby asked me while we were sitting at the computer after I had asked him "well, when are we going to?", and he didn't even turn the computer off. I also felt uncomfortable being the center of attention, so I decided to go to the courthouse and only have our parents there. I never dreamed of my wedding day growing up, and we had been together for so long I just wanted us to have legal rights to each other.
