Now, there are reasonable criticizes of the fact that the we are adding to the cost without increase taxes for the next 2-3 years, but that is different discussion entirely. That is why Obama relabeled the debate over "healthcare reform" to "insurance reform" because everyone pretty much liked their healthcare and he needed an argument for reforming the whole system to fix that small 10-15%.

On minute 13.5 he gives her the answer. He tried to explain the how the HealthCare bill affects future costs and he just took way too long. And Yes, I saw all 18 minutes of it. BTW Krauthammer answer was also right but he was just addressing the political benefit to the Dems. Passing H-Care is also economically and morally beneficial according to THOSE who support it. In laymans terms: Obama wrote his thesis on page 14/15 ... he forgot the thesis always goes on top.

Our economy is worse than what it was when Obama took office and foreclosures have hit a NEW record high. Obama's approval rating when he took office was at 79%. It is now at 43%. After Dems took control of the House & Senate, unemployment jumped to 7.6%, our economy went bad, foreclosures hit record highs, & gas went over $4/gallon.

For families with a taxable income of $60,000 or less a year, there was a 24% tax cut since Bush took office. People who made $350k a year got a cut of 12.5%. Under Bush, the millionaires pay 38 times as much as the $60k couple. Before Bush, they only paid 33 times more.

There are no direct new taxes on lower income families, but it's naive to expect that the new expenses on the healthcare industry won't be passed on to everyone else.

Got it correct? The health care reform will not increase any tax rates until 2013, and one would hope that the US economy would no long be in a carper. Now, there are reasonable criticizes of the fact that the we are adding to the cost without increase taxes for the next 2-3 years, but that is different discussion entirely. But thats Fox "news" for you, missing the simplest facts as long as it puts the spin they want on the news.

Generally, the Gov should be running a surplus in good times and a deficit in bad time, where the long term budget = the long term taxes.
