@jess1up Consume consume consume. Make it like crap so it wil break and we will continue the cycle. Cept this time around things are oh...just a *tad* bit different.
I've worn out something like four or five CD players over the past 20 years, while my old Pioneer PL-4 turntable from 1984 still spins like a charm--despite having the most use!
@curiousgeorge555 I tend to buy whatever I can "old" instead of new... Stuff for the house, furniture, tools, etc. Hate today's shelves of cheap, plastic crap that only lasts a few runs. In the past, things were made to last because people weren't rich enough to buy something over and over and over again. A frying pan lasted. A bed was made of real wood. Oh, how I wish I had a time machine! :)
@jenzeppelin ditto. i buy older if i have the chance. i go to a lot of garage and estate sales. The computer stand i am typing on is an antique table painted shiney black with faded paint so you can see the undercoat, strong as an ox. crap crap crap piece of crap. many good things have developed in the "modern age of information" but many products are cheap disposables. they just want us to consume consume consume. jerks! lol sorry. anyhow at least there are a few of us around who appreciate...
Excellent observations flybreath. The jones's concept is probaby in every culture to some extent. Some people see through it and try to keep themselves in check. The tech let down is a scam that is ALMOST amazing in that people buy into it. Many companies purposely make the crap to break within three years. Add to that that most of the gadgets are obsolete within six months to a year. In some respects you can't avoid it if you have to keep in step for business purposes etc...
I gotta believe that Neil made his video to this song as a piece of irony. LOL reliablebow "O'l Neil is always up to something." He sure is. He sure knows how to keep things interesting for himself. ~cg
YW. NP. Yeah it's not a typical song that will stay in your head for a long long time like Needle or Cortez or Outa the Blue or hmmmmm about a trillion others. ~cg
A new song came out, it was by justin b, I listened to the song it was a piece of crap. (PIECE OF CRAAAAAAAAAP)
