I think the whole point in her looking shitty is that she is seen through Mark's eyes. At the start when he really wants her she looks perfect to him, then as soon as he gets her he doesnt want her anymore and he starts to see all her flaws. Hence she looks ugly

personally i think its more to do with aging. there is not a plot about her looking aweful... so why would they put make-up on her etc. Although, i think the actress will feel aweful after reading these comments. over the 5 years, she's been looking 10 years older.

The writers observance of human foibles is a much bigger subject in the first few series. The kind of Kenan and Kel awful situations took over later. Awkward moments are cheap in comedy though
