  • Thank you sooo much for the video. I had no clue how to replace it and you made it simple so anyone can do it. Was able to do it on my own. Thanks again!!

  • I just replaced mine. Took about 15-20 minutes. Thanks again for the video on how to do it.

  • Looks really simple. I'm going to do this today. Thanks so much for the video.

  • Is there any place that has directions for the 2004 acura TL. i cannot take it off with these directions. thanks

  • Oh for fucks sake, FUCK ACURA! they had to make this filter a fucking bitch to take off. I should have bought a G35 back then. I have the 2004 Acura TL and this doesn't work. I cannot push in the side of the glove box and make the glove box go down. Never buying a peice of shit Acura again. The Transmission on my Acura is even worse, the peice of shit is tarting to make noise and probavly gonna cost over 4k to fix.

  • that first piece on my car was a bitch to get off. excellent video btw

  • what a pain in the ass to get to lol

  • Bout to go outside n do this right now! burr

  • Inside of my 2004 was not the same as that in the video. Squeezing to release sides impossible, needed long screw driver blade to leverage out and to slide back in (slide over tip.) Screw to remove box were on the side not above. Be careful pulling out if configured like mine, plastic tabs on left can break off.

  • @01sachem Mines a 04 as well. There were not those extra screws on the inside and I just pried the plastic tabs out with a screwdriver from the inside and took them out. They popped right back into place when I was putting it back together.

  • Great video. I have to change the cabin filter in a 08 TSX and of course, the manual tells you to take it to the dealer. Does anyone know if the filter replacement for a tsx is done differently? I just changed the air filter and it was a PIA!

  • did it.. but broke the trunk-main switch.. it's fixable.. the red switch part just popped out.. i'll reinstall it later. thanks for the video though.. took me 10 minutes. literally.

  • Video great! Filter design placement bad! Thank for the help!

  • Thanks so much for this... though it seems like a pain in the ass in comparison to my 05 Accord's process!

  • Very easy thank you for saving me the trip and money!

  • Great video, took about 5 minutes to replace the filter.

    Thank you !!!

  • Thank you. This was very helpful and I did not have to take the screws out. It took less than 5 minutes and no doubt the dealer would have charged $75 for an hour of labor.

  • Nice! I'll agree the trim was a bit of a bear and I pulled a little too hard busting one of the clips. But saved $100 in the process and nothing a little epoxy won't fix

  • Thank you very much! Just did my 06 TL, took under 10 mins. The filter cost me under $20 and I saved about $100 doing it myself.

  • Success! But those trim panels were a bear to yank off, not knowing exactly how they were attached (just simple push-in to attach, pull-out to remove fasteners, although mine had a bit of a monkey grip purchase. I probably came close to breaking the plastic guide on the right side by pulling it sideways; I got lucky there). Next time will be easier.

Thanks again for the video. A generous gift for us shade tree mechanics. ;o)

  • I love the internet. I love YouTube. And more importantly, I love YOU man!

Thanks a heap. Acura cab filter replacement is 10 times more difficult than on our 2006 Cadillac DTS or on my 2000 BMW 528i. Those required only: (1) open filter door; (2) remove filter; (3) insert new filter; (4) close door. If this seems easy to the Mazda guy, I'll never attempt to change a Mazda cab filter. ;o)

Now I know why dealer showed me someone else's filter. Yes, I caught him. No surprise, really.

    THANK YOU!!

  • How often does this filter need to be replaced? I have had my 04 TL since it was new, and the dealer has never mentioned it.

  • @mntodc Depends on your driving conditions. If you're often driving through dusty conditions, then more often. I live in suburbia, with a fair amount of highway time... I change mine every 6 months or so. Maybe once a year. Think of it like your air filter at home. How often do you change it?

  • Super quick and easy to follow. My TLS air quality thanks u.

  • this is my first ever comment - but wanted to thank you - this was great, and made it easy. I knew paying $70 to Acura wasn't worth it!

  • huge help, thanks for making the video, it is amazing the dealer charges $120 for this...

  • Excellent video dude!! Hey can u make a video on how to remove the cup holder console I need some input on how to do that I have a Acura tl-s?

  • Wonderful! Thank you. I didn't have to take out the under-dash cover to get the glove box out. Also, I found it difficult to reinsert the glove box with the glove box cover on because it was so awkward. I removed the glove box cover (only 2 screws) before reinserting the box which made it much easier.

  • Hey is this the same way you change it in a 2007 tl types?

  • Thanks for the great video. It's always easier to do something like this after watching a video opposed to reading instructions with no form of visualization

  • Luckily honda and acura have the sense to make these somewhat easy to change.....try puttin one in a mazda 3 or any of the new style beetles....its like a jigsaw puzzle that ya end up not wantin to finish.....good video will save a lot of people money for something that is fairly simple.

  • Thanks a lot! I used your instructions to change the filter on my car a couple of days back. Excellent video!

  • This video was very helpful. I'm a female who's trying to do more things myself and you just saved me $50 at the dealership. I think i changed it in about 10 minutes and I didn't even break a nail! ;)

  • Can you do more video about regular maintains for the Acura TL.

E,g. Oil change, transmission change, air filter, cabin filter, adding Seafoam, ect.

    It's very useful video.

  • Nice! I changed the filter all by myself, no more dealer! I can't wait to tell them that I will change my own filter next time I take my vehicle for service!

  • Sweet video...lot of other places are very misleading. I unhooked the dampener and got the glovebox dropped and didn't see anything...didn't realize you had to take it completely out. THANKS!

  • Took less than 10 minutes. Filter is about $16. Great video, very easy to complete following the video. Have 07 TL.

  • Hey--I have a question. I have a 2006 Acura TL and when I changed my recirculating air filter (like this) I noticed quite a bit of rust built up to the left--the dealership told me this was perfectly normal and that even 2010 TSXs on the lot had this. All because of condensation in Florida according to them.

Any other owners have this problem?

  • Easy there buddy...that's an Acura. This video was great. Thanks for the time.

  • How much does Acura usually charge for this? Excellent video, very helpful. Saves people hard earned money.

  • @jackbinbong

    about $100 at the dealer

  • This video was a ton of help!

  • By the way, what is that on/off switch that has the picture of a car trunk for? Its at the top left of the glovebox. Anyone?

  • The car in the video is an 05 TL, the on/off switch in the glovebox is to disable the trunk release button.

  • Great video - thanks a lot. Just to clarify in case someone with an '04 watches this. I have a 2004 TL and the glove box was slightly different than yours. Maybe yours is an '05? There were no screws I had to remove - and the stoppers that keep the glovebox from dropping are different. I actually had to do more than just squeeze both sides to drop the glovebox. Instead, I had to pop-up the 2 plastic clips inside the glovebox (1 on each side).

But everything else was similar, thanks again.

  • Thanks alot.

    Save me $120.
