to get a good slash tone have the gain on 5 or 6 and very high bass and mid and 4 or 5 treble with lots of volume slash focus's more on eq

if you want to make it sound like sweet child or estranged or this video turn the tone All the way to zero. dont also use a metal setting like mettalica or like that good luck

When talking about slash style,people just say use pentantonics and that's right, but its not the full story. His solos do rely on blues scales, but a big part of his solos is notes he plays not because theyre in a scale, but because he decided they would sound good.He didnt learn 100 scales as a kid plays all his solos from them,he takes the few he knows and uses them with other notes not really in a scale to create a solos that have unique flavor rather than a boring,standard thing.

most importantly when using the settings elvetobbe gave you use a marshall silver jubilee cuz that's what slash used on appetite and use a les paul with alnico 2 or low output or vintage sounding pickups

Slash used a modified JCM900 for Appetite, he didn't get his jubilees until later. He says in his book he has never found another amp like it.

It was a JCM series, because in his book and in an interview with Total Guitar he said he tried to keep it (since it was being rented) but the tech accidentally let the guy they rented it from know that they'd kept it longer than they should. Just checked and it was an 800 modded by Tim Caswell.

What is it just called the Marshall Jubilee?I'm pretty sure I've heard like of A 25th Anniversary Jubilee, is that the one?It's just because I'm going to be getting his new signature Les Paul, and i would love to get the same amp to get those "Blues" tones that Slash can get, that tone is the best tone i have ever heard... The 800 and the Jubilee are two different amps. Slash used the '87 silver editions and the 88 black editions for the Appetite/Illusions tour, and his signature amp is basically a carbon copy of the Jubilee models. Having the same amps and guitars won't make you sound exactly like slash, since tone is in the fingers, and amp placement in a room is another factor, as well as the mixing done on the PA desk and in the studio. Slash has claimed he will never have that same Appetite tone ever again.

I want to get near to the Blues sound of Use Your Illusion, but yeah i know tone is in the fingers, and i won't get that exact tone (I knew i never would, but close like I've seen in videos like this one) but I don't know which would be the best to buy...

You're better off getting a DSL, since the Jubilees/Slash models were limited runs and really expensive even on eBay, the 800s are quite pricey as well and a DSL has more gain than an 800 which is probably closer to Slash's Illusion tone. But that said, he probably ran pedals and other post effects during the recording.

Since the 800s Slash used were modded, the DSL is probably the only amp that can get close to that amount of gain without any pedals attached. Marshall have a range of cabs, but the 1960A is probably the best one. They also do a 'vintage' one with different speakers in it. The DSL also gives off that great clean tone Slash has.

The 25th anniversary amp is called the Jubilee(black and silver) and then there's also the slash signature amp which came out 10 years later and is the exact same thing, except its only black and also only comes in the 100 watt edition. If you get that amp then it will give you the UYI tone. If you want the appetite tone then you would need a modded Marshall 1959t slp, which is a plexi.

mainly, focus on scales, diff scales in the same key, like try the minor and major scale in Am, just improv and if u heer sumthing u like, add it on, every day i improv and i experiment with diierent scales and licks, and ud b surprised at how good it sounds, and u cood b srprised how useful scales can b,

Memorize pentatonics, scales, and learn to visualize where they all are to be able to attach them during solos, there's no really way to teach a solo besides learning, and practicing, and eventually getting your own style.
