You don't quite understand how a bank works. A bank takes that as a reserve amount, loans out about 7 times that amount to anybody at interest, and if enough of the loans aren't paid back, it's the depositor's the bank has lost, not their own.
This is simply a criminal activity. Banks don't care if they lose OTHER people's money, that's why they so recklessly loaned money out. You need to put the bankers in jail.

It's not the responsibility of a borrower to make certain that they can pay back a loan. It's the responsibility of the lender to make certain the underlying asset covers the loan or that the borrower will repay. There will always be irresponsible borrowers, the problem is with lending institutions that don't worry about repayment.

Bankruptcies happen all the time. That's why there is collateral in a loan. These banks didn't care if they would paid back, because it was never THEIR MONEY they were risking and they didn't care about collateral.

Did you see the RTE report on part-time placements at M&S? It was only temporary jobs for 600 but there were over 1,500 applicants. Some were highly skilled and cued for hours. Are Irish authorities on top of immigrant fraud and scamming?
The 'Welcoming' Irish blame everyone but themselves for the so-called recession. Irish brats my age wouldn't do the jobs foreigners do, it would be beneath them. The 'Sex in the City' Generation deserve every fall that's coming. They have a materialistic life & live for drinking & partying. No soul, no real love of my Country & lost to a pornographic way of life. Let's hope this 'recession' really kicks in. Then again it will be just another excuse for the Irish Slut Generation to drink more. :)
But the unfortunate thing about my country is that we are left now with a legacy of empty developments, spoiled landscapes and segregated anonymous communities. I fear my government has squandered an opportunity to really improve people's lives and I think we could be left with many problems in the future - both social and economic.

You don't quite understand how a bank works. A bank takes that as a reserve amount, loans out about 7 times that amount to anybody at interest, and if enough of the loans aren't paid back, it's the depositor's the bank has lost, not their own.
This is simply a criminal activity. Banks don't care if they lose OTHER people's money, that's why they so recklessly loaned money out. You need to put the bankers in jail.

Where was the loan officers as they were handing out their depositor's money to these people and corporations that can't possibly pay back the loans? This is the whole point of due diligence and credit ratings.
Failing that, there is the underlying asset that is collateral for the loan. Hopefully the assessors did their job..

It's not the responsibility of a borrower to make certain that they can pay back a loan. It's the responsibility of the lender to make certain the underlying asset covers the loan or that the borrower will repay. There will always be irresponsible borrowers, the problem is with lending institutions that don't worry about repayment.

Bankruptcies happen all the time. That's why there is collateral in a loan. These banks didn't care if they would paid back, because it was never THEIR MONEY they were risking and they didn't care about collateral.

Whose fault is this? it is certainly not the borrower. It is the totally fraudulent way in which the banking/money system functions. This is what happens as a result of fractional reserve banking.

Did you see the RTE report on part-time placements at M&S? It was only temporary jobs for 600 but there were over 1,500 applicants. Some were highly skilled and cued for hours. Most of my friends who are unemployed would do anything for work, anything to just get them doing things.

243 Asylum seekers were transferred to other EU states after being caught 'asylum shopping' where they looked for refugee status in 2 or more countries.
40 failed asylum seekers were deported last night, a further 202 opted for help in returning home voluntarily rather than being removed.

This in the Long run is great for Ireland, already people are coming up with new ideas for the Economy eg Spirit of Ireland. We could never keep up the way the Economy was going, no country in the world could, as the video said we'll become a small sustainable state but we'll still be at the top end of the GDP table in Europe. Similar to Luxembourg and Belgium. Not rich but not poor either.

I'm from Waterford, the reason the company went into receivership was because of the greed of management, they decided to mechanise production and still market the product as hand made. they also bought wedgewood china tn stoke on trent uk which was a loss making company from day one. they have a load of stock to sell now. i think it will be resurected because waterford handmade irish crysttal can reclaim its status as a world renowned luxurious yet attainable product of timeless beauty!

I fear my government has squandered an opportunity to really improve people's lives and I think we could be left with many problems in the future - both social and economic.
