  • These tabloids will say any garbage to sell stories so here is another one. That Doris Day is destitute and that at eightiy seven she will be coiming out with another album. Yeah Right even so she just may still sound good in her later years as Ella Fitzgerald did. She was great though. Like Debbie Reynolds she was not as wholesome as she was in Hollywood meaining she gave it as best as she got. Doris will always be timeless.

  • This was the first 78 rpm record I ever bought. I became composer, arranger, producer, engineer, keyboardist and have had an enjoyable career in music. It all started with listening to this recording upstairs in my garage with my friends. We all were in love with her voice. I personally was fascinated with the blending of the orchestration and the beautiful vocal. The quality was way ahead of its time. Thanks Doris.

  • I'll always love this song - because it's the only song my mother ever got to really hear me sing full out in front of a crowd of 900 before she died. That was also the night I truly learned I had a great voice and one I'd inherited from her (she gave up a potential opera career to have me). Thanks mom!

  • the good old days when more people knew how to love and be loved.when there was more true feelings....

  • @LESTER7L1

Maybe in the movies LESTR7L1, but in reality, life was made up of the very same things we all dislike today.

The songs were romantic, but man was still at war, people were hurting each other, and children were suffering.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

    Born 1947.

  • @LESTER7L1 and literacy.

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Pleasantly pleasing... :)

  • What a voice!!...A true joy to hear her!

  • beautiful smile, beautiful lady singing a beautiful song.

  • I'd love Adele to do a cover of this. It'd be flawless.

  • what a lovely voice

  • Quite a remarkable career. It's interesting to read about her on wikipedia. I had no idea she was the top ranking female box office star of all time. Also under her discography, she recorded so many songs, they list them alphabetically. BTW, this is an enjoyable movie with the late Howard Keel.

  • She was (and is) so very beautiful...her voice and physically as well. She was an "American SweetHeart".

  • I recently found out she sang this song in one take. She walked in, sang the song, said so long and walked out to her car.

  • well, there was a movie scene where doris day sang this song,a classic

  • The first time I had ever heard this song was in the movie where Doris Day sang it in many years ago.

  • One of my favorites. Thanks for posting

  • There's a bloke who sings this, and i know there is... But I don't know his name, only the style in which he sings this song. He does a more lively version of it, a little bit faster. Guess you could call it Jazz like. Anyone know who it might be? Can't find anything on Youtube, no matter how ahrd I look...

  • @uthly1 Try George Michael and his album 'songs From The Last Century"

  • I loved this song since I was a child.Too much memories..............and I loved this song.............thanks

  • I have the same birthdate for DD, but different real name: Doris von Kappelhoff.

  • One of the most popular song by DOris Day.............just read info about her.........Whoa!!! We have the same birth date.........probably this is the reason why I have liked her so much since I was a kid.

  • I just made the 1954 playlist and yt killed 3 videos already!

This replaces one that was taken away, so maintaining the songs playability may be more work than I expected.

My 1952-1972 playlists each run about an hour and I hope to list each year for the past century.

  • @chkjns I'm doing the same! Can we share?

  • what a great singer.lost my secret love cause i did not like the secret bit.oh well

  • I love Doris day. Her songs make you feel happy and all your worries seem a lot less. Love her song with the words "Dont save your kisses just pass them around no one will evr know a 100 years from today".True words for those who are living with regrets.

  • @sandysari555 but God will know

  • @sandysari555 I always say 100 years from now who will remember, In fact no one will really care.
