@ericjkent No argument I worked on a Mazda race team in IMSA and we ran our peripheral ports at 13000 rpm redline they were dead reliable for 24 hours plus. We won the 24 Hours Of Daytona for 2 years in a row with our RX7s 1981 1982. Kent Racing

Peripheral port ruined it, it takes away all of the low down torque, which you need for this.

Mazda had a 4x4 RX7 rally car in 1985, iirc. They got 3rd in group b.
