@jjones1987 the difference between cents and dollars in this instance is extreme. if the rate is .002 cents the costomer would owe 71.79 cents, or .7179 dollars. they are telling him he owes 71.79 DOLLARS. i would say thats a fairly large difference in cost
@jjones1987 ummmmmm??? are you completely ignorant?? .002 CENTS is NOT the same as point .002 DOLLARS. just like 100 mL is not the same as 100 L. if you wanted to find out how many liters were equal to 100 mL you would have to divide the mL by 1000. so if you wanted to find out how many dollars are equal to .002 cents you divide by 100 which would equal .00002 DOLLARS. congrats on making yourself look completely stupid
The rate is correct, he's just using confusion to mess with us and the guy. The rate is .2 cents. If you put that in a dollar amount it's $0.002. That's their rate, and to calculate the amount they paid they multiply the kB by .002.
So there is some stupidity on the Verizon stores part, but he's also stupid to think that .2 cents is not equal to.002 dollars. The guy gives him the correct rate. They were just too stupid to realize they should have been saying .002$ and .2 c.
yeah the guy gave him the correct rate.. 1:00 - 1:20. He stated very clearly the quote was for .002 Cents... this after the customer asked very clearly if it was .002 cents or .002 dollars. "The rep said 'sorry, .002 cents." Then the manager said they were quoting ".002 cents"' So they both quoted the rate he was paying was .002 cents, not .2 cents
Your looking at this from the standpoint of a decimal math equation vs. a monetary equation. $0.002 is saying that it's 0.002 cents. On paper they are the same just as the guy said when taken in context. In a math equation, you are right 0.002 dollars is not the same as 0.002 cents. But in the context of money $0.20 is said as 20 cents and $0.002 is said as 0.002 cents. 0.002 CENTS is different than 0.002 or 2 thousandths OF a cent. It's the basic understanding of monetary English.
So lets do the math together!!! If you are charged $0.002 per kilobyte which in the context of money is technically said as 0.002 cents. if you take 0.002 cents multiplied by 35,893 kilobytes that comes out to $71.63 rounding up or 7,163 cents. You do not divide by 100 because 0.002 cents is $0.002. Normal decimal math does not apply when taken in context, how is it I'm the only one who understands English when it comes to money? You all need to retake English and 5th grade math!!!
Woah! that is just crazy! We really have to spend more time on math! Or else in a few years all americans will end up like Sarah Palin (or the dumb manager on the phone)
haha! correct rate but not the correct payment, they wanted him to pay $71, before they even did the conversion! What's this world comming to? XD

he probably should have pointed out that $0.002 = 0.2 cents. He should not have had to, but it might have helped
SomeGuy7337 1 year ago
@SomeGuy7337 actually he did point that out several times in the full video
yourmanstan 1 year ago
@yourmanstan where is the full video. because in here he references .2 cents being .002 dollars, but does state in one statement.
Also on note i forgot to add this but it might have helped if he compared the $0.002 = .2 cents, and that 0.002 cents = $0.00002.
All that said, he should not even had need that, and they are really dumb to not have known the difference.
