For those of you who messaged me asking what the problem was, it turns out it was the wiring from the engine control unit to the fuel injectors. New wiring harness fixed the problem.
sounds like the afm to me mine played up like that and took me 2 months to find it ended up was the afm , such a simple thing to change and caused so many probs
Fuel injectors!!!!! Sounds jus like mine did but with out all the ponys in it haha.

my r33 gtst rb25det has the same problem but dont sound as bad at that happend today hope it can be fixed

theres a plug going in front of your engine, its a cam angle sensor.. check it.. you probably have it fidured out, but thought it try..

I agree, angle sensor or it's off timing. This happened on my Tiburon after a timing belt auto-tensioner failed.

my car had a missfire backfire problem as well, just a ka24 tho...it was just a simple loose ecu wire. Just throwing that out.

make sure you have your spark plug wires right. That sounds just like my old 4G63 when I plugged them up wrong.
