Of course, it's Verdi at his utmost, fusing elements of Parisienne Opera Bouffe with Italian melodrama in a wonderfully droll and subtle entertainment. Perhaps his most misunderstood masterpiece.

The section commencing at 3:45 - 4:45 is probably the most celestial of all operatic music, rivaling even Wagner! Bravi e Grazie!
