I have no training. And not old enough friend. I have 25 years, I am a journalist. When I was little, I did judo for a year and a half. But today, I've forgotten everything. If I could turn back time, I would have spent more. Today, no. But when having my kids, I'll also instruct them to practice martial arts. The world today is very dangerous and know defense is fundamental.
I could imagine that this is a long apprenticeship. Gavin is great for their age and certainly will be a black belt soon. I myself do not know much about martial arts, but I admire those who practice early on a clean art, that doeth good for body and spirit. Here in Brazil the arts are more Do you know of Capoeira and Jiu Jitsu. Karate, unfortunately, is little known.
Thank you again for your comments. A long apprenticeship would be an understatement. Gavin is my son, I am the school owner. He will train as long as he lives under my roof. I am glad he is liking it though. As for Jiu Jitsu and Capoeira. I have heard of both. We have a Gracie Black Belt teaching Gracie Jiu Jitsu here as well. His name is Javier Vasquez. He is an awesome instructor, stylist
Gavin formally trains 45 minutes per day 3 x per week, minimum. Every day he practices this kata as well as his required kata for the rank of 6th kyu green belt, (Pinan Yodan) He has been actively training since the age of 2, and sometimes helps with the beginner class. As for Keeping with God, God is always first!
The Gracie family is renowned in Brazil, with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu technique and spread the rest of the planet.
Again, hugs and thanks for listening.
