Look up a site called " chestofbooks ", they are old books that are free to read online, (no downloading required), on the left click on "reference". There is a three volume set from the early 1900's, that contains info of many different types homemade products and many oldschool formulas, lotions, potions, etc. etc.. I think it may have some info that you may like.
Wow! You are awesome! What a great trick! Question, though...does the mixture gather any mold or anything like that after sitting or is it ok? Do you know a specific shelf life?
@bubblebubblemintpop3 I'm sure that that is what she is talking about. It's really great for the skin. I use it on my skin with baking powder, sugar, or salt as a scrub for my dry hands in the winter.
@kickdass123 Any brand of olive oil is fine (organic preferred, but not a must). Johnson & Johnson is not my wash of choice. I opt to choose a baby wash that does not have toxic chemicals. To find a safe baby wash, visit EWG's Skin Deep database:
@Babies411 Hope this won't disgust anyone but does anyone know if these can be flushed? I have two children: 7 yrs and 4 yrs; so we're out of diaper stage but everyone in our family, including the kids, use Cottenelle or Scott's bottom wipes after BM's. We are finding that the kids are going thru the wipes we buy in a week; cause we can't supervise them at all times. I figure this might be a cheaper way to go-- if they can be flushed.
@kickdass123 I use dr bronners mild baby wash, fractionated, organic coconut oil, and a drop or 2 of lavender and chamomile essential oil...not fragrance oil. the coconut oil is a natural anti viral and heals babies skin so you shouldn't have a problem with skin dryness/irritation and it also has no toxic chemicals.
@DawnMarie81 I use Earth Mama Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash to make my wipes and it doesn't leave a residue at all. Now, I can't say that about other soaps as I have not used any other product to make my wipes. The great thing about this recipe is that it is completely customizable and if you feel it leaves too much of a residue, you can use less soap....if you feel it is too oily, use less oil...it's up to you.
@mrsfollett OH GOD don't use essential oil on babies. They are too concentrated and unnecessary. Babies don't need to be perfumed - natural scents or otherwise. You can use olive or almond oil if you need moisture.
What a great tutorial and a awesome channel. Me and my wife have adopted four children with the youngest being twins which are now four. Wish I would have know how to do this 7 years ago. FIVE stars from me
I hope you love them as much as I do! I use Earth Mama Angel Baby products....non-toxic and smell yummy! You can also get creative and add tea tree oil (to help the wipes last longer), vit e, calendula, and lavender essential oil. Enjoy!

Great mix, my son broke out with regular wipes so I had to make my own. I used the non allergic cetaphyl soap to make mine.

Wouldn't using baby wash/soap leave a residue on baby's skin that would then again have to be wiped off so it doesnt dry on and irritate baby's skin?
