  • Haha! I have pretty similar hair to the drummer! Does anyone know the name of the song in the background during the first portion of this video?

  • Thank you for this video :)

  • Know we know where KISS got there idea from =)

  • Holland 1967

  • Dragonfly was

    GEEN Vlissingse band

    maar een Middelburgse band

De straatbeelden die je ziet zijn ook allen uit Middelburg

  • Ahead of their time! The birth of Glitter Rock,

  • this is so influencial thank you so much

  • very cool! acid time capsule!

    BRING BACK THE LSD!

  • Awesome!!! Greatz from Zeeland.

  • Thank you very much for posting this. Fascinating. Celestial Dreams is one of my favourite songs and a pinnacle among pinnacles To see this film is a privilege

  • there was also a band from liverpool, the klubs, who throughout the sixties painted there faces when performing. an amazing band.

  • -- who knows how good they'd have been if they'd not spent so much time being made up? Kiss owes a little something to them, I suppose. Glam way before the fact.

  • Great! And the band's got the 45 version of "Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand" by The Who blasting on a nearby record player!

  • A spirit of young people have not change much.

  • awesome.

yeah, i really wish i was born fifty years ago, id probably be on tour with these guys and doin a bunch of acid and chatting with syd barret.

  • I'am from the fifties and believe me the best music ever made was in the sixties and early seventies. Dragonfly and the Grateful Dead rules in the underground scene. Incl. Steppenwolf.

  • I think KISS ripped these dudes off.

  • Wow, I never knew there was such great psychedelic music around here. Makes me wonder why I wasn't born at least 30 years ago.

  • si qreis q os diga la verdad, no se si me hace sentir bien q solo 6300 personas hayamos visto este video, esta cultura es la polla..

If you know I tell you what I think about this.. I don´t know if I´m proud about the fact only 6,300 people have seen this clip..

this psychedelic culture is fully interesting

  • Kiss stole their make up...

  • Wow, thank you beyondthebeat. It's great to be exposed to yet another great psychedelic band. I like the film footage too. Ah, how I wish I had a time machine, but until then, YouTube works just fine.

  • All these vids (this, the outsiders, etc) are so fantastic. But is there any way you could crop them so we're not seeing your desktop and player? if you're filming it off your screen you could zoom in to crop the image. Maybe it's just me, but it seriously detracts. Thanks for posting though! These are gems!

  • Hitweek.....Ook in Sneek.

  • prachtig

  • I just tried looking up this group on Amazon, but there are other groups with the same. It's hard to tell if they're the same group because it doesn't give a lot of information on the CDs.

  • They only released two 45's.

    Look for:

    Celestial Dreams

    and

    Celestial Empire

  • Thanks. I came across their CD on Amazon, I'll check to see if those songs are on there.

  • @Stacela hahaha CD? you must be mistaken Stacela, only on wax where it belongs untamed and unedited. cheers to all vinylheads!

  • They're good

  • It almost looks like KISS copped their make-up ideas from these guys. Peter Criss, KISS' original drummer almost looks the same as Dragonfly's drummer.

  • Ha you can bet Dragon Fly were the first to paint their faces. I saw them live several times, cause they are from my hometown in Holland, and man did they rock. Their gigs were a happening, every time again

  • I have heard Dragonfly's music through the Technicolor Web of Sound and they definitely rock harder than most of the Psychedelic/Hard Rock bands during the late 60's. Should have been up there with Shocking Blue (Venus) and Golden Earring (Radar Love) who were the Dutch bands i remember having top-40 hits in the US.

  • Great stuff. Vlissingen : Herring and Dragonfly.

  • TANX TANX,BTB....

    I GOT the single Celestial Dreams(Since '69)

    (with beautifull Pic sleeve)

The B-side Desert Of Almond is BRILLIANT.

  • Anytime Paul,

    Wij zijn uit hetzelfde jaargang:-)

  • What's the name of the song that starts like around 4:34?

  • Celestial Empire

type that in on yahoo search, and someone posted the whole song. p.s. download a sound recorder thats what i did XD

  • Ok, I'll give it a try. Thanks

  • Found everything under Celestial Empire except the song itself.

  • I'll see if i can upload it somewhere for you please give me some time.

  • ok, thanks

  • They have a song called "Celestial Empire" that is really cool freakbeat.

  • i've heard that, on rubble 9 i think, if you havent got that, its reallllly worth getting, so much excellent dutch psych

  • Kiss who????

  • wow - it is absolutely amazing that these fantastic pieces of film can be uploaded here and shared around, this Dragonfly footage is really top notch, thanks a million beyondthebeat for another winner - Lenny of The Thanes, Scotland

  • thanx for sharing these pearls

  • Brilliant piece of history! one of the most original groups, their Dragonfly is excellent and a real fave of mine: wonderful end to this clip!!!
