Cool video. I have not done Pine Hill, and its pretty much in my own back yard. Have you guys ever caved at Crooked Creek Ice Cave? It's adjacent to the Great Saltpetre Preserve. Last thing I heard though, the landowner had closed off access.
I will be at Pine Hill Cave in a couple weeks! Im going with a small group from Ohio - very excited. The only cave I've ever been to is Sharp's Cave in WV. It was a great time.
What would you do if this was the first time in the cave? Would you leave markers as go? How would you keep from getting lost? I went caving last summer and I left orange construction tape at every branch, which pointed me in the right direction when I re-traced my steps to the beginning.
Tape is fine, as long as you are coming back the same way to pick them up on your way out. I have also used Glow Sticks (Break'em and Shake'm). It is always a good idea to look behind you as you go alng and try to identify landmarks. A cave passage looks different going in, versus when you come out.
Thanks. Your Trailer was a nice mix of music and short shots. It reminded me of a video I'd like to shoot which is a blend of caving and Blair Witch. I've got a script in mind..would be kinda cool. I'm planning on going down again in August to Mt Vernon, and have a rafting trip planned for late September (Upper G)
I bounced that cave when i was about 8 it was my first cave :)
