@reddagmar When you type your password it won't show that you're typing, but you are. Its the same password you use for your mac when you make changes and it asks for your "apple ID"
@girgis2000 No, this code works really well actually, better than "sudo nano/etc/hosts" because it bypasses higher security. The main issue is getting permission to "unlock" the host file once you've opened it.
Anyone having the problem where you cannot save, here's what I did:
1. Go to "Go" in the menubar and type: /private (which contains /etc and in turn the hosts file).
2. Right click or Cmd+Click the /etc folder and unlock it, then click the little + at the bottom left hand corner, then add your account and change the privilege type to "Read & Write".
3. Open up /etc and repeat step two for the hosts file itself.
even easier in the Finder tool bar go to "Go" connect to folder (or CMD-Shift-G) then type "/Private/etc/" it will open the folder in Finder find the file called "hosts" and right click and open in Text Edit.
127.0.0.1 is local host (means--your computer) so to block your Site put this into your hosts file put in the name of the site after the # symbol below
#(the site to block)
127.0.0.1 91.121.43.180
you dont need the :88 which is the TCP/UDP port as not adding it will loopback any request for an app on your computer asking to talk to 91.121.43.180 back to your computer 127.0.0.1
What am I supposed to do if I type my account password and it does not recognise it? Please, advise! Thanks

Much faster and less of a chance of a typo

Could you explain what does the numbers in the terminal mean?
Like this one that is always at the front 127.0.0.1
So how will i block this one site: 91.121.43.180:88
Should i type it like this:
127.0.0.1 91.121.43.180:88
