@AbrarAnwar92 Well it's from the first album, find out which song he used after the Jim quote. Look it up, I believe Gm but I could be wrong, i do it by the ear
I think it's obvious Robby wouldn't be using a bog standard SG.Does anyone know what kind of model he's using?I just don't know of anyother models with dot inlays that Gibson make.
its the gibson sg classic/special. i have one. it has p90s and dot inlays. they used to be called the sg special. pete townsend of the who and carlos santana used them. they discountinued them (i think in the ninties) then they released a sg that had humbuckers and called it the special. after a while they re-released the original one with p90s but now its called the classic.
@ADollsHouse420 ...and Jim Morrison actually pointed that out, too. he does not overplay, ever. I put him in the top 5 rock/pop players of all time. it's about melody w/mood. when U have that nothing else matters! ps. let's not forget Ray on the keyboards..WOW!
Tell us all, Robby... Where can we find all the pieces of our minds, liquified and fallen on the floor, after this LSD melting down, sliding, mesmerizing sounds?
i randomly met robbie krieger and got his autograph couple months ago at the cat in fiddle in hollywood got to watch him play with the house band it was awesome.
@EnsoBlues skip james used minor tunings in the early 20's , and he wasn't even the first. I think what Robby meant was: the only SLIDE guitar player who used a minor tuning (although later there were some other guys too i guess)
He was in the Doors, so he can't be that under-rated. All the band were great musicians, and I know he's not listed as a blues guitar legend, but to leave a legacy as he has, he has to be happy. It'd be the same for Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding - both great players, but under a rather large shadow. Peace x
@fatjimmorrison Pretty much, more or less. Yet, he's still often considered a Doors legend, perhaps largely because he was a Door, in the first place, and in any case.
I would classify him as quite possibly the top greatest complimentary guitarist in the entire whole of rock music, among some other guitar greats, for sure.
robby krieger, the quiet, gentle door...amazing talented, nice lad, underrated.a fan since 1967.
