i saw the sun go down outside of arkansas and i saw the sun come up outside of illinois and in the darkness i tought myself to hate oh where were you oh where were you and whered the fucking sun go
i had a friend who knew i liked Sunset Rubdown so he told me to check out a local Chicago band called "Tin Tin Can". Holy wow cow, they're awesome. Search "tin tin can" (include the quotes) to see them live. amazing stuff.

i'm so sick of bands like this... there are so many right now. depresso music. lyrics that have some cool lines but don't really add up to anything. if it does something for you cool... it's just so overdone and with everything going on in the world i'm feeling the need for some meaningful powerful forward thinking words we can share with each other. ya know? :)
I don't know, throw on the radio. You'll probably catch some John Mayer or something and it'll make you feel better. As a musician I can state that you've got to be feeling something to make anything worthwhile. With the world in the state it's in ("with everything going on") I can tell you there are probably not a whole lot of people that are optimistic enough to write "powerful forward thinking words we can share with each other". Go dig up some 60's or 70's vinyl - hippy stuff.

I actually heard a band the other day that was rather optimistic, and had meaningful powerful lyrics and very very powerful vocal delivery. Forward thinking I suppose but not in a societal regard.
The band is called "Hey Rosetta!" go check them out and listen to their songs "Red Heart" and "A Thousand Suns". I think you'll feel good about both tracks.
Optimism is not a quality in itself. When reason and a sense of propriety or rightness are missing it can be as pathetic, useless, dishonest and artificial and thus cripplingly depressing as pessimism.

Oh my god... thank you for filming this. This is one of my favorite songs ever and this video is so perfect. His voice sounds absolutely perfect live.
amazing band. i contemplated sneaking into their over 21 show when they came. i was pissed when they moved their show from an amazing art gallery to a fucking bar. not their fault though.
This video is awesome. We have featured it on our blog. The address is in our youtube profile. Come take a look if you have a min. We link to a new video every week.
This is like the easiest song to play on piano ever, it's just like G-C-a-G and then it switches keys so it's like A-D-b-A. That's basically it, there might be some minor discrepencies, but if you know how to play piano it's not hard at all.
@Carpet32 he's an incredible musician (michael) - everyone thinks he's 'the drummer' until he picks up the guitar for mending of the gown and plays the shit out of it..
I met him recently as well, I gave him a copy of a mash-up/mix that I have made - it is perfect for breaking up the monotony of on the road touring, they seemed excited to recieve it; nice guys.

granted the lyrcs are fairly ambiguous, but thats half what i love about them; you find your own individual meaning in the words,
its poetry not a motivational seminar.
