It never says strictly anywhere that they are twins, therefore Yamaha or whoever can portray them however they wish. In songs where the brother-sister thing is important (alice human sacriface, dark woods circus, etc.) they are twins because that's what the song calls for. However here, the song calls for a couple, therefore, they are. yay :D

They aren't necessarily twins, but they are alike because of the similar data that was put into them.
