  • there are 2 characters in this movie. The weird scientist and his subject, who says only one line the whole movie. this is basically a really trippy, dumbed down, evil version of tree of life.THERE IS NO NARRATIVE! SO BORING

  • @zebrastriper1 thanks for the warning.

  • FULL TRAILER: watch?v=nWF0bBKhe6o

  • THX-1138 anyone? Seems like a direct rip. Still gunna see it though.

  • @dansemacabre17 Stanley Kubrick too =)

  • @dansemacabre17 uhm clock work orange.

  • @SMS2RR THX-1138. The tapping on the cup or whatever is a direct reference of the guy being beaten with a bobby in THX.

  • still waiting to see this...

  • HOW DO I WATCH THIS MOVIE, I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE!

  • @Pestilentich go see it in a theatre when it is released.

  • @Pestilentich watch?v=nWF0bBKhe6o

  • what the fuck is this

  • Fantastic

  • I saw it in the Mar del Plata film festival...It's a fucking disaster, check the comments on imdb.com, the ones of tribeca, it doesn't make any sense, people kept leaving the theatre during the whole movie.

  • It seems you don't have personality.. If you don't like the movie I respect that, but seems you need to justificate "your" opinion with you are saying (imbd, people leaving ...) *i'm spanish

  • Ive got my hopes up again for another Enter the Void, although the last time i got my hopes up (which was for Enter the Void) i was slightly dissapointed.

Please please please don't ruin the film by saying "this years 2001" in your promotional material.

  • @79waz Yeah, I thought enter the void really mis advertised itself with all the altered states comparisons...

  • @79waz Yeah I know what you mean. I enjoyed Enter the Void, it had its moments and very well shot, but it was just drawn out most of the time. It's tough to make a watchable experimental film without boring or alienating the audience, but most directors don't really care and do what they want which is understandable. Avant-Garde filmmakers like Alejandro Jodorowsky and Jan Švankmajer are the most bizarre I've seen within independent cinema. Crossing my fingers for this one.

  • @bennude10 Amen to that. Hoping this doesn't fly off the rails the way Void did, it's always a shame to watch a perfect concept get stifled out by a poorly-executed movie.

  • I completely agree. I loved Enter the Void but there were certain parts that were ambiguous and i felt either served little purpose or were just a bit unecessary. alejandro Jodorowsky is a wizard. His films are so other worldly. But if you look closely,he alludes to a lot of the self afflictions of man and questions certain philosophies. His allegorical films tackle alot at once so it's kinda necessary for him to reach outside the norms.

Never heard of Jan Švankmajer. Thanks for the tip.

  • So is there any way to watch this other than dropping acid on a space station?

  • Wish I could get my ass to Fantastic Fest to see this and 'No Rest for the Wicked', so pissed I can't make it.

  • The wait is killing me. Panos Cosmatos remember that name. It's not very hard tho :)

  • Also, grooveshark. Use that shit people! It will change your life! Hope that helps for those who don't want to download (though why wouldn't you?),

Also, I feel like my brain is on fire! Oh wow is this an interesting looking film.

  • I know the song is "Evil Ball" by Sinoia Caves, as stated by someone, but I can't find it anywhere, not even on Youtube; help?

I love this trailer, reminds me so much of A Clockwork Orange (the scene in the car at 0:32) and 2001: A Space Odyssey, with the astronaut like outfit and the symmetry of the shots/set.

I hope they release this as a DVD very soon!

  • @DARKgirafa The nameo f thew album it's is The Enchanter Persuaded. Google "Sinoia Caves - The Enchanter Persuaded" and the first mediafire link you see has the album for download.

  • @th1snme1sn0tTakn

    Thanks, will do!

  • WTF IS THIS?

    WHERE IS LIFE?

  • where/when will i be able to watch this film? i can't seem to find anything else on it besides the trailer.

  • @Aneth1313 All I know is that it is playing very soon at Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal, Canada. (and holy hell am I going to see it) I don't know if this helps you. Good luck!

  • 1:03 on the trailer..are my eyes playing tricks or is that a vagina??

  • @wotdafunk right before it fades i believe it's the girl's arm (she's laying on her stomach)

  • OMG, i need to see that.

  • Just saw this at TIFF. It's awesome. People don't know what they're talking about. I'd watch it again righ tnow.

  • could be brilliant, guys.

  • "...a bold, Kubrickian vision to the screen in stunning detail in this sci-fi fable of a young woman imprisoned in an experimental laboratory and the enigmatic scientist who is her captor. Set in a futuristic 1983, Elena finds herself held against her will in a mysterious facility under the watchful eye of the sinister Dr. Barry Nyle. Pushed to her limits, Elena is left with no choice but to navigate an escape from her labyrinthine prison, in the process revealing its hidden secrets"

  • @tyriless I just saw it. Although successfully creates an 80s scifi atmosphere with visuals and music, beyond that to me it is "empty arthouse flick" just like you said. One can try to explain how there is deeper meaning, but i think you have to be a psycho to understand. To me it was PAINFUL when the same visuals kept repeating without any actual substance.

  • I just saw this film. Wow! Must see, must see, must see! instant cult classic.

  • Good electronic score too.

  • the music is Slut Fart by Lady Potato

  • Is there going to be a theatrical or DVD release, would love to see this?

  • I saw it last week in Toronto, and i can't get it out of my head. Really need to see it again. Incredibly good. And the music...i need another dose, when is the sound track release?

  • Amazing Film. SSQ track Anonymous is over the end credits. AMAZING!

  • what the hell just happend?

  • damn this looks cool.

Sci-fi is looking good in these coming days (except for the avatar sequel).

  • Well i guess whatever experimentation was meant to yield "the new age of enlightenment" didn't really pan out. All i knwo about 83 is Reagan was in charge then.

  • @livinginhawaii1971 @luisdramon It's the original soundtrack for the movie which according to the film's website, "an original analog synthesizer score by Black Mountain's Jeremy Schmidt." Black Mountain is a great (in my opinion) psych-heavy metal band from Canada.

  • We know this trailer was released in 2010 because it fades to black every 5 seconds!

  • Cant explain it...but it reminds me of 2001 SPACE Odyssey and such classic films.....mark my words we will be talking about this film for years to come.

  • I haven't been this exited about a science fiction film in years. This reminds me of the original Solaris in so many ways. Cant wait.

  • music please?

    and this looks awesome

    must watch :D

  • @luisdramon I concur! Hopefully, the music is part of the soundtrack or some artist's album that is already out.

  • looks like a mixture of thx1138 + moon + something entirely different.

    i'm all for it! :)

  • awesome. WTF is it?

  • @EyeOnTheTV

Set in 1983, Beyond The Black Rainbow is fever dream inspired by hazy childhood memories of midnight movies and Saturday morning cartoons. In the Arboria Institute, a disturbed and beautiful girl (Allan) is held captive by a doctor in search of inner peace. Her mind controlled by a sinister technology. Silently, she waits for her next session with deranged therapist Dr. Barry Nyle (Rogers). If she hopes to escape, she must journey through the darkest reaches of The Institute.

  • Looks - and sounds - great?!

  • Wow! This is very relevant to my interests!

  • Wow. When is it coming out?

  • Beautiful.
