In the US, Robotnik/Eggman is percieved as 100% evil, to the point of hating all life. This theme reflects that dark image of Robotnik.

In Japan, Robotnik/Eggman is percieved as a crazy scientist who just makes crazy inventions and doesn't really know what he's doing. He's kooky and quirky. The Japanese theme reflects that too.

Yeah I respect your opinion but the reason I prefer the Japenese version is be cause instead of saying "Your so screwed" it says something more like "Come on you can beat this joker" and Sonic CD has really easy bosses. If the bosses were really hard then Id prefer the "Your screwed" felling
