  • i would love to see this man sparing against a kung fu guy.Would be great.

  • Admiro Muito o Sensei Kanazawa

  • dddddddddddddddddddddaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • mayi guiri trop fantastique

  • I took Shotokan as a kid and then switched to Kempo Karate when I moved to Hawaii. I now do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing. I still love and respect Shotokan Karate! Good stuff!

  • Amazing. I got my second dan from him!

  • too amazing!! wish i cud watch it live:)

  • I remember, me and Nick spent a whole night rewinding and watching that Kanazawa-O Neil demo. That's awsome. Wish master Kanazawa live another 70 years in good health.

  • Master Kanazawa is one of the best technician, showman and the best ambassador of Shotokan that JKA have ever produced. Here you can see his precise, crisp and controlled technique which shows how deadly these techniques could be if delevered full speed and power. His demo also says his sense of humour even within a fighting art, silently. A similar demo is available with KUGB instructor Terry O Neil, too. Sensei Nick Adamou and I went crazy, when we saw this demo for the first time in a video.

  • Great Real-Hard Action! - Tnx "TheDemzley" for sending me this :)

  • perfect

  • wow

  • Don't get me wrong! I am a fan of Shotokan Karate! It's awesome!

But, I think I've found that kenpo is more practical against another experienced opponent! I do hold a brown belt in shotokan and soon to be a yellow belt in Kenpo!

  • I love the technique at 1:00 the back-hook-kick is one of my favorite ones :).

  • I'm starting shotokan next week. Wish me luck lol

  • i thought shotokan was non contact

  • kanasawa is foda

  • To all guys and gals viewing this, my advice on IEKUKATAKA is: ignore him. Now I'm an open-minded martial artist, and in that spirit invited this guy, who is on EVERY Shotokan clip, sounding off and calling it BS, to show us what he's got on Youtube, so we can judge his credentials and testimony for ourselves. He has totally bottled it. So whatever he says from now can't be taken seriously; he talks the talk, but the I'm afraid the walk's far beyond him. What a clown!

  • @masserby To all guys and gals that read the comments of masserby: I have offered information to the public regarding the nature of karate in the west, the JKA and its lineages. Instead of using the info for personal discovery, he is offended that I even say anything because he is a JKA enthusiast. Of course, his counter to my arguments appies to me also in that no one knows who he is either. My intent is not to glorify myself but to give the discerning and objective information. That is all.

  • @IEKUKATAKA; chaff. You slag off Karate like a manic obsessive. I calmly invited you to prove your credentials by posting some footage of yourself. You hid like a coward. What's the matter, have you lost your bottle? I have nothing to prove as I'm not going round dumping on other people's styles. I think all have something and I learn from all (yes I like the JKA; yes I like and learn from others) So my advice to others still stands: ignore this chump.

  • @masserby My how you twist things. A person uneducated in this matter and that is protecting himself from the invalidation it may bring will do just that. You want me to be wrong and you need me to be wrong so you try to negate information by questioning my abilities. I could be completely inept yet capable of understanding logic. You offer rebuttal yet I see no indication of your abilties or involvement. The info is for the objective and your real issue is that I stepped on your baby.

  • @masserby Additionally, who are you to demand anything and I am just suppose to get up, invest time and money just to prove history to be correct? I would just as soon you stay involved in this crap, you deserve it for being just another subjective coolaide drinker and that gaggle of "names and ranks" needs to make a living off of you and all others who will not get off of their butts and study rather than follow like sheep.

  • @IEKUKATAKA Man you're everywhere aren't you? You're delusional and need professional help.

  • @theuppro Not yet, but may be. I would expect subjective people to call me deluded and various other names. I was not so happy either when I realized the truth, but, instead of calling people names, I got off of my butt and studied independently until I found the truth of history and the intellectual truth of sound reasoning. You won't do so, your ego and self protection are in the way. Those that know need no explanation, those that don't want none. Sayonara, bakkatadiga. :)'

  • @theuppro BTW, I looked at your channel page, YOU HAVE A LOT OF BRASS IMPLYING THAT ANYONE ELSE IS A NUT FCS!!!

  • i thought shotokan was non contact

  • @datauk64 It is in that there is no purposeful attempt to injure others as a normal course of events. As in other sports, things happen and people get hurt. If you are referring to the video, it is a demo and the guy was likely unhurt.

  • @datauk64 it is semi-contact ----> you can hit hard as you can the oponent's body ...but you need to have Control at the techniques that hits the head ...

  • @theuppro great comment. This IEKUKATAKA guy's an idiot. Load of people have asked this boasting muppet to show his stuff. Nothing! Dickwad!

  • @blagamoush10 I tell you the cricket coach is inept and you want to see me play? Brilliant!! What makes you think I am a guy? You, and these other dim wits

  • @IEKUKATAKA you may not be a guy but it's likely as guys are more prone to obsessive compulsive autism/aspergers which your obsessive monomania, unable to see more than one point of view, definitely suggests you have. In other cases guys like you join weird cults or become extremists.

  • @blagamoush10 actually know nothing about me, you are just pissed that I have made logical and history proven statememts that invalidate something about you. Ignore them if you think I am wrong.

  • @IEKUKATAKA They invalidate nothing about me you clown. It's hard to ignore you because you pop up everywhere like a bad rash. Now rather than cowering behind Youtube anonymity why don't you show what you can do? Otherwise just carry on playing with yourself behind your keyboard and leave discussion of martial arts to the grown ups.

  • Sensi Kanazawa en su tiempo (prime) fue especial. Gracia, muy bueno.

  • this just shows the versatility of karate though a lot of people seem to think karate is only straight punching and a kick or three, ofcourse in a real situation you'd probably better stick to those kinds of basic techniques, but as this video shows your karate doesn't have to end there, it's all about exploring and crossing your boundries, at least that's what this yellowbelt thinks of it feel free to disagree

  • 37 people belong to WKF!

  • @lucakarateka i belong to WKF and i liked this vid :p

  • i dare any grappler to try and take down kanazawa!! osss

  • THIS IS NOT KARATE! A warning from a JKA life member: I spent a long time training and teaching this activity. Because of many contradictions I saw and heard, I began a study of karate from it’s beginning; what it really is, why it was developed, how it was taught, what it’s general syllabus was. The JKA is a shell, they have eliminated much of original karate and have invalidated it as a martial art. Read comments my site, the truth is obvious through study if you are willing to see it.

  • @IEKUKATAKA - I do not believe for one second you were ever a martial artist, nor a Marine. You're now approximately 65 - 70 years old, and this is how you respond to a video clip.

The old folks home nurses need to keep your crazy ass off the internet.

    Psycho warning friends!

  • @ModernGolfer Well, just humor an old man then, just exactly what did I say that convinced a 51 year old that I was never a Marine and never a martial artist? As for the remarks of masserby, I have offered information for those that may want to do some research in order to protect their own futures. He doesn't like it because he is a JKA devotee. The information is for use as people see fit. They ignore it at their own risk.

  • @ModernGolfer 66 to be exact. As you obviously know nothing of who I am, you must be just pissed at my remarks. You WANT me to be wrong, you WANT my age to be a factor and you criticize my response because you NEED me to be incorrect as I apparently have invalidated something about you. The truth? Marine '62-'66, JKA life member, karate-ka 46 years, current private teacher, still very active, capable and knowledgable, anonymous, get over it. Those that defend ignorance can be proved nothing.

  • @IEKUKATAKA You are a total fucking crank! Man! Let's see your stuff!

  • @blagamoush10 You hope I am.

  • Fuck I can't wait for the nationals in Florida next year to kick all of your hypocritical karate asses. FUCK IT ACCEPT KARATE IS JUST A SPORT like gymnastics BUT ITS USELESS IN LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BOXING, MMA, BJJ, sport JJ, Mui thai, etc

  • @JohnAntonyFortune And another thing: On my karate club we have two different trainings, sport karate and real karate. When we practise sport karate, I understand what you mean, but REAL karate is MADE for reallife!!! Those samurays who lived in the past used it to kill each others with their own hands. I agree that kumite today is not as brutal as boxing or MMA, but real karate is STILL deadly and it's MADE to work in reallife!!!

  • @JohnAntonyFortune yeah, their just like karate jackass,!!!!

  • @JohnAntonyFortune Karate is not a sport is a martial art!! and everyone that practice that knows it!!!

  • had the pleasure and privilige to take a class under sensi kanazawa's instruction tonight, he truely is a master

  • had the pleasure and privilge to train with sensi kanazawa, even in his old age he can still move fast!

  • Daaaiim! These guys are some professionals!! :P

  • @magnernj5 I have been doing karate for 11 years now....and I don't hate the sport as much as FUCKIN hypocrites who practice it. I am too good to stop practicing, but I also do boxing. I hate that you fucking hypocrites either don't accept it or don't understand that KARATE fighting in real life is a JOKE !!! for Christ's sake I have been in the sport probably more than you and I am probably the best in K here, but still the sport is a sport like dancing or smth, but in life its crap

  • @JohnAntonyFortune You are talking with nonsense, ok maby you've bin practise karate for 11 years, but that doesn't make you the one who can judge it for everyone else! My sensei have practised karate for about 37 years, and he SHOWS us that it actually works! And what I've learned in karate ALSO works in a fight!! Maby karate does not work for u, but karate is a combat sport with technices which is MADE for fighting!

  • @JohnAntonyFortune If youve done karate that long, you obviously have a shitty sensei because you have not learned to respect anyone else.

Come to my dojo, we can settle this anytime

  • 1:03 =AMAZING!

  • I love reading these ''bjj wurkz for IRL, shotokan shit'' discussions. I see that people don't know anything about karate in general. If i would get in to a fight i would use a quick grapple or kick to the shin or to the knee (shotokan FTW) but i don't train to hurt peple. Bjj is bullshit bastard son of judo and lock-wrestling (hahaha trolled). But seriously.. do you have time to go grapple and lay down while the other guy comes with a baseball bat? Does Bjj train against 12 cauge? hahahaha.

  • didn`t know they even had locks in karate.. hm...

  • fuck karate any boxer can knock the shit out of your GRAND MASTERS.

  • @JohnAntonyFortune

LMAO, you have no freaking clue. A boxer would get the shit kicked out of him by a high level karate practitioner.

  • @JohnAntonyFortune

hahahahahahahahahahaha....you have no idea what you are talking about

  • @JohnAntonyFortune you don't know shit fool i'm a 1st degree black belt in Shotokan and smashed a kickboxers face in.

  • @SilentDiaz44 UAHAHAHAHAHAH LAUGHING AT YOUR MOTHErFUCKIN FACE

  • @JohnAntonyFortune you're so fucking stupid. our grand masters can kick the fuck out of you bitch

  • @JohnAntonyFortune ...try ...may be you win ...may be you will have many broken bones !

  • @JohnAntonyFortune

get out of this video, and get out of youtube, go troll in world of warcraft

  • @jin54363 I have been doing karate for 11 years now....and I don't hate the sport as much as FUCKIN hypocrites who practice it.

  • @JohnAntonyFortune

karate in real life, works, if you don't believe it, then look at mas oyama, and the karate masters that exists, i practice karate and i find it useful and too dangerous to use in real life, because karate contains attacks that can kill you with a single hit, and what is your point of calling me an hypocrite?

you saying your the "best" only shows you are a liar, a true karate master does not proclaim himself to be the best, just give your best ;)

  • @JohnAntonyFortune sir, show some respect to the great sensi, he has been traing for more then your whole life, you are perfectly intitled to have an opinion, but thats just it, its an OPINION not fact.

  • @LesPaulRockerProduct Why should I ? answer my question properly and I will shut up forever. Or just stick to your hypocritical KARATE.

  • @JohnAntonyFortune because your opinion dosent matter here, if you want to take about boxing go to a boxing video and stop being a useless troll

  • @LesPaulRockerProduct I have been doing karate for 11 years now....and I don't hate the sport as much as FUCKIN hypocrites who practice it.

  • @JohnAntonyFortune get over yourself, and i never said that boxing was bad and if you have been doing karate for 11yrs or so you say, youd know that its is effective in real life and its not a sport its a martail art, maybe sport karate is different but traditional karate is effective.

  • @JohnAntonyFortune and yes the sports version of most martial arts arnt hugly effective, thats why you train in traditional!!!!! be it shotokan karate, taekwondo, m.m.a

or ju jitsu or any fighting style

  • @JohnAntonyFortune That would be incorrect,

look up Kancho Joko Ninomiya and eat those words

  • o man, i love karate!

  • 1:34 DAMN

  • Great demo. Can someone explain the logic behind performing turning/roundhouse kick and striking with the top of the foot, rather than with the ball of the foot. The ball of the foot is extremely strong and hardy, whereas the top of the foot has many small bones that would make it susceptible to injury. Why do so many styles strike with the top of the foot?

  • @SupermarketsRevil I think that he is striking with the ball of his foot, The ball of the foot is the top part eh, and not the heel, you must be thinking of the heel when you say its stronger, and it is, But the ball of your foot has more reach and has a smaller surface area, so your hit hurts more, Same as with punching, You punch with 2 knuckles in karate, because its a smaller surface area and it hurts more.

  • @onthewingshot Yes, the ball of the foot is the top part underneath the toes, whereas the heel is at the back of your foot. My point is that some people strike with the TOP of the foot, with their toes pointed rather than pulled back. As per my original comment, I am wondering why they would strike with this more vulnerable area of the foot....

  • man I love watching this =)

  • Great demo,..very precise,..and his control is super !!

  • I miss training in Shotokan, I stopped after i got really sick and need to get back into it, I'm first Dan.

  • Jump back into it !!!! You can do it !!!

  • tremendo el profesor Kanazawa, tuve la gentileza conocerlo en tokio.

  • The slow bits are to show his skill and control, that he can move fast and can also deliver slow precise moves.

  • nice.. but can u do it against a group of people? no? thought so

  • Eeerrhhhh yep he can, he beat 4 guys in a bar once. If you new anything about Karate and Kanazawa you would have read his book or articles and know this, comment on Rainbow that's about your level of understanding.

  • Shikeyboy - winning over four opponents is pretty impressive! I visited an American Kenpo class once that was partly focused on defense against multiple opponents, and while techniques were offered, the instructor stressed that even a skilled fighter is at a disadvantage when faced with more than one opponent. Are you a Shotokan practitioner yourself?

  • Oh your probably the type who gets attacked by a group of people reguarly unlike most who have respect for others. I'm not usuarly this disrespectfull myself but you talk absolute BS.

  • nah i just had a bad day so i decided to = talk bs anyways thats no excuse for what i said anyways im not usually this jerkish but yeah

  • 1:00 - Coolest kick ever:-)

  • Oss

  • ОССС!

  • OS!!!

  • OSSSSS!!!

  • kanazawa and japan masters are the best of karate! OSS

  • awsome crab claws..

  • so beautiful waza..........great sensei, if i found him when i was young, for sure i will learn karate

  • OLD IS GOLD!!

  • Cool video and great control!

  • SUPER VIDEO

  • lol, I used to spar with mine, his favorite shot was a sidekick to my liver

  • cool, old karate master

  • Brilliant as usual. How old was he when he did this?

  • he was bout 40 something.. i think

  • maestroo !!

  • I can't pass gas loud enough to be able to properly express my opinion about this conversation...

  • The person who shouts louder wins?)

  • dude that acerwk guy is such a fuking wanker, theirs nothing wrong about england

    how u get a life u bastard

  • what isn't wrong about england?

  • You will also learn locks grapples in Shotokan Karate

beside kicks punched elbows and knees techniques

Shotokan is very good and very effective Martial Arts

    Osu!

  • Shotokan is only Scratch the surface and is for the masses.only the basics and nothing more

  • .in other hand shotokan practioner doesnt have a clue and they thing ''come on with one mae geri its all over''so they ALWAYS loose

  • I also trained for many yrs in a tough Shoto style - we trained like in Japan - some guys were animals - very tough, mean, fast, strong - there is no way they go down easy in a fight with anyone - nat. athletes no matter what phys. activity - the term:"grab a tiger by the tail" - well, you grab one of these guys & they will kill you - no one maegeri - just kill you with everything they have learned in 10 or so yrs of training - the split second they see the opening they use it - bjj or no :-)

  • yes and if you see the other side for example Ricson Gracie etc they can kill this guys you say in a sec.you think that only they train hard?the other guys train harder

  • Now u beginning to understand - it depends on the level of training & the individual in the fight - there are a gazillion Shotokan schools - some good & some bs - if you train hard in a good school with good instruction u do well - the strength of Shotokan technique does not need your approval for efficacy - there are a lot of tough fighters all around - the karateka I've seen fighting in bjj videos are not skilled - no big challenge there to bjj - but it impresses people like you :-)

  • no it depends at the art too!!!!!(shotokan doesnt train you for real life so its not matter if you are good or bad.this sucks anyway)

  • bjj has advantage because they know how shotokan going to attack and move. shotokan practicioner doesnt have a clue how bjj guys move and attack and they think tha one mae geri would do the job.they are doom thats why always loose

  • so he use his BJJ in every fight..get it??

  • he know how to defend against grapplers(how they move for takedowns etc)so he can use his striking abbilities!if he remain only on shotokan defenses against grapplers(that they dont exist)he will be KO in every fight

  • That is not jiu jitsu that is shotokan he does not grapple at all with them he just uses his quick reflexes from karate to move out of the way and counter how is that bjj u fuckin idiot?

  • he knows how the grapplers move and how the attack!how they can move the feets how they do takedowns etc and thats why he can avoid them!not because shotokan teach him that.shotokan deosnt have drills-defenses againts grapplers

  • haha ok buddy you must not know much about martial arts.

  • you dont know much about martial art if you was wait to see clear moves from Bjj etc.its the mind set!the way they fight and how he can defense against them.if you know how your opponent will move then you have the advantage.shotokan doesnt teach you that.just like the video on top only not practical defenses against oi-tsuki!

  • does this style teach how to fight on the floor?

  • Shotokan per se is not a martial art involving grappling if that's what you mean. There are some techniques where you take down an opponent and some fighting does occur when you're down which involves punches, strikes & kicks rather than chokes & holds. The Japanese Wado style combines Shotokan with JiuJitsu techniques.

  • tihs style teach you how to get beat nothing more

  • You have such a myopic, ignorant mindset. You need to grow a brain and realize that some of us look upon martial arts as more than someone beating or getting beat in competition.

  • you didnt understand nothing..ok

  • This is not a new argument, anyway - nothing new here. Whether boxing or wrestling, karate or judo/jujitsu is more effective in combat has been argued for aeons. More depends on the ability and strength of individual than anything else. Someone skilled and strong in a striking/kicking art can avoid grappling in actual combat with a deadly or incapacitating blow in the first 2 or 3 attacks. In sport competition, deadly attacks are frowned upon, however.

  • depends from the art.shotokan doesnt train you for real fight so you dont have hope.if an art doesnt cover how the oppent will attack you,and he will not attack you with oi tsuki, you have problems

  • I can only say that you must have had a very bad Shotokan instructor. Whether an opponent attacks with oi-zuki or something else is unimportant - in this video Kanazawa is demonstrating techniques that could be used against any attack. If you say that an ippon nukite to the eye or a mai-geri to the solar plexus for instance would not be incapacitating in a real fight, I say you are wrong.

  • against any attack??you are jocking right?this shit techniques against takedowns for example??hahahahahahhaha

  • Certainly karate is more effective before any takedown since it isn't a grappling art but there are techniques & body weapons that can be used against an opponent on the floor, ie: elbow strikes, nukite, etc. to vulnerable parts. The karate-ka must be fast & strong to dispatch his opponent before any takedown in the first place. For you to zero in on Shotokan as being ineffective is silly since the similarities in all the Asian striking/kicking arts are much greater than the differences.

  • yes but if you dont know how the opponent moves and in what way he will attack you for the takedowns for example you will have problems.if you train with the opponent attack you in straight line as oi-tsuki(ippon/gohon kumite)and you will face a fighter attack you differently as grapplers move then...

  • Ippon kumite is for practice - in free sparing u move all around - duh. U can never anticipate what ur opponent will do - it's what YOU do that's important! My emphasis is on self-defense not competition - If I am defending my life or family I would rather knock an assailant out that roll around on the ground with him - while I respect all martial arts, that's my choice. So much depends on the individual & how hard one trains in whatever endeavor one chooses.

  • yes but if you dont know how to avoid a double leg down(shotokan doesnt teach you how)you are going to the ground in a sec max 2 sec

  • If someone trys to go down on my legs they either get a mai geri to the face or knee to face with my hands behind their head or if they grab me then a hammer fist to the ribs or a fist to the side ot the head or fingers in the eyes. U may not be able to avoid the technique but u can move around a lot & make it harder for them to shoot it. A front snap kick is very fast & powerful - u punish opponent every step of the way - & your punches & strikes are strong, hard & at vulnerable areas.

  • you see?you think that grapplers (Bjj etc)are stupid and they will attack you just like that tottaly open.look UFC and you will see how do the takedowns from position and angles that you cant hit them

  • My point is that all one has to do is get in one fucused punch at a vulverable area & it's over - takedown or no takedown. People get hit with mai-geri all the time in free-sparing & the positions & angles are changing constantly.

  • watch UFC..how many times suceed mae geri?

  • Well, I really have no interest in UFC - I see no art in that. Not interested in seeing the meanest junk-yard dog in town. I prefer traditional martial arts.

  • me to but its clear that all the techiques you said doesnt work in real life.the opponent is not stupid he will hit you hard, maybe harder and if you dont have train in all the drills i told before then you are going ko easily

  • because you will not recognise what the attack is.you will fight as you train.

  • If you go up against one of the UFC champs or Mike Tyson, etc. you are probably dead anyway. The ave. person is not that skilled or tough, however - u just do the best you can with the tools you have cause u will never be the toughest & the best fighter on the planet. But if you train hard the martial art you choose will probably give you a self-defense edge over a vast majority of potential adversaries. There is more to martial arts than just fighting anyway as I see it.

  • And you are 100 % right :-)))

  • UFC was founded in part by the Gracie BJJ family & some promoters & most participants are mainly grapplers who are probably less skilled at kicking & choose not to use mai-geri. I still feel a correct mai-geri would be effective against a grappler - maybe not every time but a kick is gonna be faster than a grappler can move his body for a take-down. But you have to remember that UFC players are pros - the ave. Joe is not gonna be as skilled as these guys anyway.

  • if you see videos from the first event of that kind (free fights) you will see many karateka tried Diai mae geri and they all failed.the Bjj has drills against those kind of attacks,kicks/punches.shotokan doesnt have drills for takedowns etc.thats why they have tha advantage.they know how you gone move and you dont know how they.

  • U have this UFC/MMA mindset. UFC is a venue to showcase BJJ for profit - no surprise that it looks good there. BJJ works well in competition when you have rules, a nice floor & lots of time to execute your moves - self-defense is something else. Each MA has its pros & cons. I've seen some of these UFC vids & have yet to see a karateka with any ability competing - u can tell by their stance & moves that they are not skilled - there are so many bs karate clubs.

  • Traditional Karate has trained to fight grapplers since 6th cent., but it's not a practical match-up for competition - the rules u make for competition are invariably gonna benefit the grappler because karate techs. would be too injurious. BJJ can drill all they want but in a real fight on the street (where the surface is not so smooth & clean) a fast, strong kick to the groin/stomach, a hook-punch, elbows, knees, hammer hand, nukite, etc. would make for a stong challenge to any BJJ fighter.

  • no because they have defenses against all that.shotokan deosnt have defenses against grapplers games.

  • I love yapping on about this stuff - who knows, I could be right - lol

Kick boxing is cool - I wouldn't want to take hits to the head though - not good for the brain :-)

Another problem with BJJ is its inability to deal with multiple assailant attacks. I've had some experience with that in my youth - better to take on that challenge standing up :-)

Another great attack to a grappler: middle finger, one-knuckle fist to the temple or neck area, etc. - that'l slow him down :-)

  • sorry but multiple attacks?and you think with shotokan as we see on video up ,with those move you have a change against anyone?

  • Well, all I can say is that I have used Shotokan in multiple assailant attacks and kicked ass & I've had guys try to take me down - it didn't work. Not to say it was BJJ but I pounded them while they were trying to take me down - and that stopped. U give way too much credit to BJJ which is useless against multiple assailants & useless if ground surface is bad.

  • middle finger etc against a stupid person maybe but against a Bjj before you think to react you will be down with your hands broken

  • No the mid. finger knuckle punch if you happen to be in the supine position - we practice that & punching from ground position all the time - hook punch it to the neck or ribs. There is no "think to react" - that's the point of being experienced & skilled. U seem to think BJJ fighters are the only ones with ability & brains - what's up with that - u got stock in their company?

  • its very simple.i see that they work and study how others fight move and attacks, what are the wek points etc

  • Understand that I am not trying to change your mind abt anything - just having fun here - u are caught up in the BJJ hype & that's cool - it's called capitalism:-) U say you "see" & "study" - well, I've been involved in the MA for many yrs - I've trained with all types of mart. artists - pro. boxers, grapplers - it all depends on the individual & his skills. BJJ has no advantage over the other MA - jj has been around for centuries - BJJ has taken old Japan. judo/jj techs. & called them new.

  • yes you are on individuals.BUT iF ONE ART DEOSNT HAVE PRACTICAL MATERIAL/SYLLABUS ETC NOT MATTER HW GOOD YOU ARE YOU DONT HAVE A CHANGE.

  • I've trained with pro boxers - their hands are so fast & they hit so hard you have to stay away from their punch or you are on the ground wondering what happened - these are not the boxers u see in the bjj videos - these are guys who if you move in on them will kill you to the head or to the body from any angle - u can drill all you want but boxers train harder than anyone - they are animals - fast & very tough - they may not beat a grappler every time - but no slam-dunks here!

  • right.this boxers nothing to do with shotokan!!!!!

  • My point was to show how phoney some of these bjj videos are - a skilled boxer would appoint himself better - but people like you eat it up - sitting there like a deer in the headlites thinking bjj is so great :-)

  • how convient all those that lost are not good.the deady shotokan figters are hide in caves?come on
