  • hey i am looking for an electric mandolin sounding kind of the mandoblaster i wount the sicoledic sound from the 70s. What could you suggest me please? could i buy a Tenson A 1E?

  • @Lovekatemoss2 The Tenson A 1E is an 8 string mandolin, so it won't sound anything like the Mandoblaster. If you want something that sounds like the Mandoblaster, you should be looking for a 5 string electric mandolin. There are a few out there for sale.

  • So your mandoblaster has a killswitch? :) WOW! :D

  • Where do you get five string mandolin strings?

  • @Johnpjm I don't know of anyone that sells sets, I always buy mine as individual strings and in bulk.

  • u played with leftover salmon AND cheese?

  • @scrumbulent yes

  • @GaragebandandBeyond thats awesome dude was just curious not doubting

  • what are the strings name in order?

  • @1998bigben from low to high C-G-D-A-E

  • Yo, Dawg! Thanks for the Blue Star demo. I think I'm sold, but I also like the J Boviers. Laters, mang!

  • @ballisticchops from low to high C-G-D-A-E

  • @GaragebandandBeyond

  • @ballisticchops Sorry, I replied to the wrong comment!

  • @GaragebandandBeyond

I was toying with the idea of making an octave guitar, but now I wanna make a mandoblaster!

  • is a ibanze weeping deemon a good wah pedal??? PLZ help

  • that second mandolin is real cool what a great sound on that thing,,that must sound great live

  • Really enjoyed this! Monk is one of my wifes favorite TV shows!

  • Great video Lewin cheers

  • Hey Lew, i was wondering. What are some good guitar strings to buy for an electric guitar. I like to play Metal/Classic Rock. I have been using Fender Bullets, but i was wondering if you could recommend any others.

    -Mike

  • D'addario strings are the industry standard for a good reason.

That's what I use and have tried them all!

  • lol, miniature guitar XD ...

  • It could have been worse. He could have said "The Oompa Loompa Guitar". :-)

  • So how is the 5-string mandolin tuned? Like a standard mandolin but with an extra string on one end?

Would love to know about your acoustic mandolin too.

And I think the actor you were trying to remember is Tony Shaloub.

  • Exactly right, The lowest note is a C

  • GO MARTY!

I'm lovin this guitar week man you should do this more often.

  • This is Lewis not Marty..

  • duh! I know that He mentioned he was going to have some Marty stories!

  • It's Lewin actually, but thanks for trying!

  • Don't suppose your gonna start a mandolinjamzdotcom. I really love the sound of the mandolin but have no clue where I could find a good teacher (learn most of my guitar from Marty). Did you learn in Santa Fe (I live in NM)?

  • I did do the majority of my Mandolin learning in NM. Where do you live? I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find someone out there. Ask at your local shop.

  • Makes me think of The Dead, which I great. Really like your Rono.

Thanx man. Is Rono the name of the guy from Boulder?

  • YEs! It's very Grateful deadish! Good call!

The guy who built the 8-string is named Ron Oates, but like I said he doesn't build anymore, it's a real shame.

  • nice man
