@BDKR It's called Deep Peace off of his album Terria, it's not the beginning but it's a build up to an amazing solo. I would recommend getting all of his solo work ;) especially Terria and Synchestra
But what amazes me that He is playn' on open C tuning,I tuned my guitar like that, and fuck it's takes time to get on with it! And besides,His sweeps are the most beautiful of all i've heard.
@Killbombr Looking back two years.. Actually open C isn't so bad, once You get used to it. Then there's a million awesome "shapes" to find. And after the two years Dev is still mesmerising. Screw all the Rusty Cooleys and McAngelo Batios who just play as fast as they can. The music is all about melody. And Devin knows that.
It's also got a hotrail in the neck position for the pickup and a pearly gates humbucker at the bridge, and I think just a stock pickup in the middle.
yeah man, the headstock should say it all, but too many people on youtube try and sound like they know what their talking about like that crazy sprinkler lady and her "metallic oxide salts".
Yeah... the open C major tuning is definitely weird but it can work really nicely... I've had one of my 5 string basses tuned to that for quite awhile, and yeah, one of the first things I noticed is how friendly it makes sweeping. Devin's an awesome guitarist, no doubt about it.
Can someone tell me what he starts playing at the end there. I'm assuming the start of a song I've not yet heard.

30 seconds in - that's one of his favourite licks, similar to the one in SYL's Wrong Side

Yup, used in Friends :) From Led Zep III, also a brilliant song and I can see how it could be influantial/being liked by Devin.
