Mr Chiam the longest standing Opposition in the parliament has fought a long war, he may got weary along the way but he never discouraged and continue to fight for his people despite his outcast position. You know how PAP stays in power for so long? Well, according to a vote counting agent, voting slips with:

1) a frowny face drawn in the PAP box; and

2) a cross directly on the PAP logo

are valid votes in favour of PAP.

Maybe that's why PAP keeps winning because people who don't like them unwittingly contributed their "spoilt" votes to them?

@HKichen Yes, according to a friend who volunteered as a counting agent in Marine Parade GRC. He said all counting agents were told to take those votes as valid votes for whichever party the symbols were drawn. Please spread the word around, tell people don't draw frowns in PAP box because it can be taken as a vote for that party.

His constant contribution to the estate through out the years is deeply appreciated

i won't mind not having upgrades i am just contented to have him being the voice of our estate in parliament

Whenever I passby potong pasir, how I wish the government would upgrade their homes so that old people livng there at least do not suffer from climbing the stairs everyday. With the population aging, we all know it is a necessity but it is still left undone. Even a Geylang(red light district) housing gets upgrading. Potong pasir is a clean place but again overlooked. Hope the govenment is magnanimous enough to help out the people living there instead of being so narrow minded.

His points are valid and reasonable. Potong pasir should not be discriminated from the upgrading benefits. For more than 20 years, i must say, this is quite an unfair and bias treatment to the residents belonging there and commit to the same commitment as other residents of other constituencies like Ang Mo Kio. Size of the estate is a non-issue of eligibility.
