I was thinking about this, and I think this was a brilliant part of his plan. Because he would arrange these interviews with people, they might hop on the internet and look up whatever country this journalist was allegedly from. If he said something like, "Babarastan",  they'd fine nothing. Kazakhstan was a country people had at least potentially heard of, but probably knew nothing about. So it seemed legitimate.
