I grew up on Hillsview and remember riding my bike up to the Observatory..I will always have fond memories of the times before the subdivisions and strips malls covered Richmond Hill, it's a truly special place...
Only in CANADA. I've been all over Europe, and there, treasures like this are preserved. But not here...Bulldoze everything, throw down sewers and roads, and then slap up some houses.
I am from Richmond Hill, and I loved going walks to the Observatory. I attended many public tours and was fortunate to have looked through the big telescope twice.
The surrounding land has deer and foxes. It has every type of tree in the province. It is an oasis in the heart of Richmond Hill.
