I hate people who think rap and all the stuff is music caz it's not they don't play an instrument they just talk fast this is real music saw him live and it was the best concert i ever went to :D
always one of my favorite shows at nissan every year it is always awesome steve was great cant wait til next year see you all there messege me to hang out next year great music an great times always
Petty has been relevant forever and continues to make great music. He's ever changing and an influence on countless artists. When I pay $100,it is worth every penny. Winwood is living off of his name. Tell me one thing he's done the past 20yrs. Petty has had phenomenal openers, but winwood was not one of them. The Beatles were revolutionary their entire career, not playing 40 yr old songs. FYI, Petty has a great album out now, Mudcrutch, check it out to hear some current music, not golden oldies.
So true. But Tom Petty is still no Steve Winwood. No offense to either. They're both great musicians with lots of great stuff. These comparisons are fun, but meaningless.
Wha?! Ugh! Check out Winwood's 2003 album About Time and 2008 album Nine Lives. They may not be commercial sh*t, by the way. Nobody compels you to listen to him. Don't diss a man who's been making music since 15!
How dare you rip on Steve Winwood. He was making albums at age 15. Think about where you were at at 15. The reason why his albums don't top the charts anymore is because artists like him don't succumb to pop culture blended trash that's on MTV. BTW- the albums Nine Lives and About Time are great check them out. I was at this concert and had the time of my life seeing both of these great artists on stage; even though in the parking lot my grill and cooler were stolen.
That sucks that your grill and cooler were stolen. That's really messed up. I've been to over 100 concerts and have never had that happen, though i did have 16 year olds try to steal my beer from my cooler at an OAR concert a year ago in Camden, NJ. But I caught those f*ckers
Hahaha 16 year olds what can you say? The people tailgating next to me were young. The cops busted their party when they started to shot gun beers. When I was 16 I stole some beer from the beer tent at an Emerson Lake and Palmer show. I guess we were all young once.
Ha ha yeah, but you can't be stupid about it. I never got caught and i drank at many concerts. As long as it was in a cup and you weren't throwing trash everywhere and you weren't acting like a banshee indian you had nothing to worry about. It seems like a lot of kids today act even worse in my opinion, breaking bottles on the ground and shit. Why? I ask we all have to drive out of this place.
@Parrotisla what the hell is a banshee indian.? america never should have made alcohol so legal, a drunk driver killed my brother at age 19- yet i am criminal for my weed.
Dude, you're a total jackass. Steve Winwood is as legendary as Eric Clapton and The Beatles. You're comment tells the world that you are a no talent hack with no flare for the legendary. You probably live in a trailer and yell "Git-R-Done!" while chasing your step daughter around the room.
Winwood is a washed-up has-been who hasn't done anything relevant in 20 years. He's living off his name and to compare him to the Beatles is about as ridiculous as it gets. I'm sick of guys wayyy past their prime hanging on taking up stage time that new, relevant acts could be using. Time for Winwood and the rest of 'em to go relax on a beach somewhere. They've had their day.
You've got to be kidding. You say Steve Winwood hasn't done anything relevant in 20 years and comparing him to the Beatles is ridiculous but when was the last time the Beatles released an album or Tom Petty, for that matter. As for "taking up stage time" that concert was a HUGE succes for a couple of guys who haven't released any chart topping singles for the last 20 years. There's a reason why they are LEGENDARY, moron. People go to concerts like those to hear a LEGENDARY performance.
Pure idiocy kid...Winwood has more musical talent than any act churning out their formulaic radio-friendly crap today. How many songs in the top 40 today be listened to 3 decades from now? If ONE is, I'll be stunned. If these "new, relevant" acts you speak of were capable of drawing the same numbers to those stages, the venues would be hosting them instead. But they can't. You, quite simply, have no idea what you're talking about. Now go play your XBox and leave the music to those who get it.
I was there, it was an unbelievable year went to 10 TP and SW concerts that summer. Philly was great, front rows. 2010 was great too!

I can't name one thing Paul McCartney has recorded in the past thirty years. Not one.

That says more about your knowledge of music than Paul McCartney's music.
