Well, I am sure that none of any cosequences of using these lamps were tracked. I mean noone did any research about it. If you want you can make such experiment by youself - just buy several such lamps and try to use it for 2-4 hours every day in distance of about 50 cm from your head. For example when reading at evening (if you still do it). And you will see what will happen to your eyes. Too brutal advice, but it is really worthy. Best wishes.
@shidunce I have generated a video response, for whatever that's worth. At around eighteen-years exposure, frequently exceeding four hours per day, there have been no noticeable effects. Indeed, during that 18-year period, my wife has been saved from a rare form of pancreatic cancer that had absolutely nothing to do with light bulbs.
Another metre with LCD number readout stated that these kind of lights are MORE then 1000 microwatt per square centimeter (microW/sq cm) and at close range its off the chart
Well, I know that this kind of units is not usefull here - here there is no far field approximation. Only correct units that can be used here is Volt /meter.
We have used those kind of lamps since the early/mid 1990s, without any negative health consequences. (Hertfordshire, England)

For everyone:
Electrosmog Detector works good for electromagnetic radiation (EMF) with frequencies from 50 Mhz to 3000 Mhz.
Almost all EMF, that are produced by CFL lamp, have frequencies from 1 hz to 100 000 hz (that is 0.1 Mhz).
This means that eltrosmog detector cant see all EMF from such lamps, but very small part of it.

What is that name of meter yo mentioned?

@shidunce Trifield RF Field Strength Meter (Density) uW/cm2

This is it. The agenda with the lights are clear. Everything is about energy, frequency and vibration. An excellent illustration - wonderful.
