  • 8v71buses: they did make a pratt & whitney powered 757 and a GE powered 1 too

  • Rolls Royce <3 RB211 <3 <3

  • rolls royce RB 211-535 is engineering at its best these engines are awesome.

  • Two people think the 757 should be Pratt Whitney powered

  • @8v71buses the 2 people are just pratts ;)

  • 757's are just so awesome and aircraft its just surreal. The best i have come across is 757 steep take off at LHR i just love watching the sound is to die for,let me know what you think just pop it the search box you will not be disappointed.

  • AWESOME! Cant express how much I love RB221's and 757's

  • awesome sound

  • Love the sound!

  • i love it, reading all the post, of fellow jet geeks...i love this sound , love the 75, dc-10 (my grandfather flew these) 747...I I like to say ahhhh. the smell of 757 in the morning!

  • It starts sounding like a V8 muscle car near the end. lol What a great set of engines these 211s are.

  • Love it. He looked like he was taxing pretty fast though?

  • Gah! Listen to it sing! >_<

  • Budiful

  • tremendous! i love the 757!

  • Love that growl at 0:43...

  • that engine throttle up gave me an orgasm

  • an oldie but a goodie! top vid!!

  • 40 secs you beauty!

  • Continental's 757-200 ETOPS Dont make the same sound even though they use RB211's

  • @MSSpenceProductions Every 757 aircraft can fly ETOPS flights(Extended Twin Operating ProcedureS) maybe they have same RB211 but one was maybe used flex temp take off and another full power...

  • Holy fack, thats fast..

  • good day for flying and nice cam shot..

  • NICE PICTURE AND SUPER RR 757 SOUND

  • i loved the howling noise

  • who needs porn when you have this :P

  • 0.40 love that noise!

  • THIS WAS NOT A TAKE-OFF, BUT A "LIFT-OFF"!!!!!!!!!!! Wow! The 757s should come back to production!

  • Jesus Christ! That thing is louder than a C5-A Galaxy. What gives with the excess volume?

  • @beeroosterm Pure power and amazingness.

  • I used to work for an airline, who flew these. I can remember as a flight attendant , sitting in the 2L jumpseat at takeoff, after he pulled the power back, all the passangers eyes would look at me, cause they thought the engines stopped turning. even on the fullest flights, and hottest humid days, this aircraft always semmed over powered to me, its really an awesome plane, not that flight attendant friendly though.

  • and the l1011 tristar had 3 of these bad boys lol with almost twice the thrust too.. wish i was around to fly in that.

  • @davdaninja If the Tristar had three of these engines putting out the same thrust per engine, it would have one third more total thrust than this plane with two of them. Show me your math.

  • @beeroosterm it had three engines that produced more thrust

    Name Static thrust (lbf)

    RB211-524B4 53000 for the l1011-500

    RB211-535C 37400 for the 757-200

    which is per engine, 53000 x3 l1011 vs 37400 x2 for 757-200

this is what i mean about almost twice the thrust per engine because the engine is rated at almost twice the static thrust as the 757s engine is.it does seem as i was a bit unclear about my last comment.

  • @davdaninja Thanks for clearing that up, but your math is still way off. Twice 37,400 is 74,800 - not 53,000. However, the L-1011 with three of the 524B4's has slightly more than twice the total thrust than the 757 has with two 535C's. (159,000 vs. 74,800)

  • Most people would hate this noise, but the sheer power of that tiny engine is amazing.

  • Ive always wondered why some pilots push the throttle up while still turning on the runway..?

  • @Marineperson there could be several reasons. Incoming aircraft so they are asked to make an immediate takeoff or simply because they got clearence while taxing.

  • @anon1010100 Thank you! It actaully just happened to me today on an American Eagle EMB-140. I think the pilots get a little too frisky haha

  • I like the bziiin 0:40

  • I love the sound of the RB211.

  • This is still one of my favorite videos for the RB211 :D

  • Whats that sound from 0:27 to 0:29??

  • @pipe158cool howling noise

  • @pipe158cool it's called "combustor tone" - a unique resonance caused by an increase in fuel added to the combustion chamber

  • 757s have such a unique sound when the engines throttle up.

  • Great sound, Powerful takeoff.

  • Who is that lonely guy who dislike this video? How weird. This is the best 757 video anywhere!!

  • nice "turn and burn takeoff"!!! and the buzzsaw sounds is awesome, nice video!!!

  • Okay passengers get ready for BLASTOFF!!!

  • airport looks empty, i guess it is under construction

  • nice video

  • gotta love that harmonic buzz sound ! :)

  • that takeoff kicked ass : D

  • its amazing how 4 of these can power the second largest airliner the boieng 747-400 :D

  • @houshidar558 They're not the same RB211's as the 747-400 mate. The 747-400's are powered with RB211-524G/H's, which are bigger than the RB211-535E4's that power these 757's.

  • @TheAeroman yes i know that but i meant what rb 211 are capable of i know there not the same

  • @houshidar558 The -524G/H produces much more thrust than the -535C/E4, so that explains it :-)

  • I'm kind of a prop guy but that does sound nice! Great sound recording quality. Thanks.

  • the person who disliked this video got sucked into a RB211

  • Wow, it looks like it's going to stall!

  • this airplane is british airways?

  • Love the drone the fan makes with the blade tips going supersonic!! GREAT!!

  • what a sound

  • @b3gunkid90 Yeah! Great sound from the fan blade tips as they go supersonic, hence the drone sound!

  • @battleaxe10 So *that's* the deeper droning sound that starts at 0:42? Now I know :)

  • british pilots???

  • Coooool!!!!

  • it looks like the pilots taxied a bit ttooo fast

  • bloody wicked video mate, wll done

  • Is it me, or does the pilot seem in a hurry?

  • ba need ta stop bumming RB211 engines that not even that good

  • 0:28 gave me a hard on.

  • seat number

  • Sounds like my robin reliant.

  • i was hoping the vid would just keep going and going and going so i could listen to the engines! awesome video!

  • awesome!! excellent!! :-)

  • that howling noise at 0:28 is awsome!

  • Engines sound is so nice (love).

    Good video but to short

  • Wooooow bro kick butt take off ...I love the throttle going to half power ..then sliding up to FULL POWER...Awesome vid!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Excellent video! 5*

  • unfortunately, these 757-200s are now retired from the British Airways fleet :-(

    sad times.

  • I listen to this music whilst having sex. Gives me the power and motivation to go that extra mile!

  • Great video!!

  • best noise is @ 0:28

  • I love that airport, landing there is a honor.

  • unique engines sound its kinda obvious when a plane with these engines fly's by your house you cant miss that sound :P

  • What a same BA's retiring the 757 tomorrow. Those RRs make an AWESOME noise! Good old British engines.

  • @scorpian865 its ok the 747 have the same engines (well most of them any ways)

  • @amazon6568 yeah and the 767s (do they still have them??)

  • @scorpian865 yes they do!

  • @amazon6568 cool! it'll be a sad day when the RB211 is retired for good. fortunetly i'm sure that won't be for a very long time!

  • @scorpian865 Yeah the RB211 is like music, I think they will have the RB211 for some time more.

  • Royles Royce engine noises make me jizz.

  • what a great video

  • I think i was on one of these from United, they usually travel small distances? LAX to Houston? I remember the Rolls Royce logo on the side of the plane. These engines have to be one of the loudest? I remember them being really loud, but also; these engines have like a second gear during take off don't they? I remember the takeoff started normal, and then a second gear just pinned us to the back of our seats...

  • brings tears to my ears hearing that engine go to take off thrust...sad I know but that's me telling it the way it is

  • @d4vid2606

don't worry bout it mate, you're not the only one....

  • Certainly my FAVORITE sound ever!

  • gotta love the life of a pilot. he does a 0-180mph drag race like 10 times a day lmao, awesome

  • I like this pilot's style.

  • That is one of the things I remember the most from my first ride on a Boeing 757 was the sound of the RR engines at take-off.

  • THis is OUR AREA CODE .........757

  • Ever wondered where the phrase 'Full ahead both" came from? Well theres ur answer!!

  • The RB211 is one of the nicest sounding engines in service. I love that buzz you get at take off power.

  • EXCELLENT vid!

  • short t/o run...then that thing climbs like a bat outta hell!!!

  • The sound of that RB211 is heaven..... British engineering at its best!

  • This is a great video and that RR motor sounds just fantastic.

  • uhuuuuuuu...

  • Amazing engine sound. 5/5

  • eargasm

  • wow! i love that engine sound! you had to be near seat 12A right?

  • that sound is cool but the 737 is much more quiet and enjoyable to listen to on a long flight.

  • it went high so fast!!

  • Great video, what seat number is this? i'm flying to Madrid on a BA 757 soon!

  • Awesome! :) Great engine sound.

  • music to my ears :)

  • There may of been a aircraft on final when you were taking off, because of the fast time between taxying onto the runway and power up and also because the pilot did not stop. And by the way an AMAZING video.

  • Nice vid man! I visited Barcelona a while ago! Check out my 757 takeoff video! : )

  • Music to my ears.

  • Some of love the sound of jet engines. Thanks for not adding music. The jet engines make their own music.

  • what airline?

  • Excellent video! Love the sound of the RR engines!

  • Rock and roll yeah! Airplanes are masterpiece of human engineering! Big thanks to all the engineerings who worked hard during the past century to make this dream come true!

  • hellish engines dude just awesome =)

  • wowowowowowowowowowo aweeeome i cant describe this aesomeee ddduuuddeeeee rrrroooaaaaaaaarrrrr engine soounnd =)

  • two great pieces of American (B757-200) and British (RR RB211-535E4) engineering on display folks

  • The British are notorious for making poor quality electrical equipment (Lucas being a prime example), but they make excellent mechanical equipment such as this RR engine.

  • i never like flying in 757's becaause im always placed in one. and they never sound like this.

  • @SpartanW98 You must at least get the Business Class and book a seat in front of the engine.

  • @raykrislianggi i always ride busness class. the 757s that i ride in just never sound like this

  • @SpartanW98 Did you sit right next to the engine, A little forward to the engine, for far ahead the engine? The best place to hear the RB-211 Growl is a little forward to the engine like in this video. If there are no growling sound at all, I'm sure there's something wrong with the engine...

  • I have flown in one 757 in my life and I remember the distinctly awesome engine sounds. Great plane.

  • the power the sound ohhhhhhhhh myyyy goddddddddd incredible... i feel like licking that engineee so beautifulllllllllllllllllllll

  • What is an engine run-up and why do pilots do it?

  • Love this plane! it's also more suited for passengers than the A320, A321's that are replacing it. If you've ever in a 757, you'll notice how it has plenty of restrooms so there's not much waiting to go. Unlike on the A320's where there are two in the back and that's it.

  • when i was on an air canada embraer from toronto to seattle i had to wait 15 mins to use it because they only have 2 onboard but the one at the front of the aircraft is for "execuctive" pax:P what a load of shit... no pun intended

  • nick and louise from mond court have rly enjoyed watchin this video, and nick is flyin to newquay in april from bristol!

  • this is sucha an amazing video! i love it!

  • I will miss the 757 when it leaves our fleet this year... great aircraft to work on.

  • Are they leaving BA for good? :(

  • Yes. They have been sold to DHL to be converted to cargo.

I believe, for the summer flying schedule there will be 3, or possibly 4 in operation, then they will depart the fleet at the start of October for the winter schedule. To be replaced with the current deliveries of A320 aircraft (G-EUYF to K). A very sad event in it's self. They will still be operated in the Openskies fleet from Paris to the US.

  • Shame about the liveries that BA sprayed up on there tails :( Especially the "Blue Peter" 757. Well its the same with every airline who owns the 757. Theyll all be gone in the next 20 years. You can normally tell if a 757 is going to be with an airline for a bit, as they put winglets on them.

  • This has to be the coolest sounding engine EVER

  • @cloudinvader think so? perhaps you should watch this: Type Boeing 747 into youtube and click the first result, it should be called "Boeing 747-400 from Virgin Atlantic Airways at Ringway/Manchester Intl Airport by Simon Lowe

" (skip to the part where it takes off( 1:55))

  • @cloudinvader I agree. It is just like the DC-10.

  • @cloudinvader - no my friend, its THE coolest sounding jet. The coolest plane engine has to be a Rolls Merlin

  • i was today taking my cousin to the airport, shitttttttttt i want to travel again

  • beautiful video! was this a 2 cabin or 3 cabin?

  • @planar11 - Our 757 aircraft have 3 cabins, forward, middle and aft. We fly the version of the 757 with the larger emergency exits aft of the wing.

  • Летал на 757

  • Great vid.

  • Wooaa, nice engine sound! Gives me creeps!

  • 757-300 Technical Characteristics757-Engines maximum thrust Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4B 43,500 lb (193.5 kN) Pratt & Whitney PW2037 36,600 lb (162.8 kN) Pratt & Whitney PW2040 40,100 (178.4kN) Pratt & Whitney PW2043 42,600 lb (189.4 kN) Hope this helps Bdd
  • is this engine powerful then the GE90 engine

  • hell no! The rb211 is way less powerful than the GE90!

  • at present nothing civil is more powerful than the GE90... the RB211 based Trent 900 which is used to propel the A380 has about 75% of the power of a GE90.

  • best engine sound along with the GE-90

  • This is one of the best RB211 study videos. These engines and the Trents make music. Don't understand why everyone doesn't use them. Are they more expensive?

  • Fuck he left off like a scalded cat, and climbing like a snake up a sugar cane!

  • I love the RB211 sounds...very nice

  • That's music to my ears! I don't know what sounds cooler, the engines spooling up in the beginning or the fans gettin' down to business!

  • You are so right! Sweet music!!!

  • 747-400 and 767-300 use Rolls Royce RB211-524H engines

757-200 uses Rolls Royce RB-211-535/C engines....

both types over power the jets immensly, that why they are so efficient, they never require full thrust for take off and cruise.

Other airlines, mostly american use P&W, which are loud, polluting and not as efficient. the first time i flew on a Tristar with the very first RB211-524B4 engines which nearly bankrupted RR.Now they had some turbine sound....i fell in love right there!!

  • @LaminaDieWills What engines did the DC-10 use. Here in Michigan, years ago these Northwest Airlines DC-10s had the most menacing growl out of any other plane I had ever heard. Now that ceases to exist. I think it has to do with the fact that no more DC-10s are around and they're all MD-11s that look like DC-10s, but with different engines. Strange enough. During cruising speeds. I'm talking like 5 minutes away from the airport ready for arrival, you could still hear the growl. Strange isn't it

  • The DC-10 had a variant of engines.

    The 10-10 had GE CF6-6

The 10-15 had more powerful CF6-50C2F

    The 10-30 had CF6-50

    The 10-30ER had CF6-50C2B

The 10-40's changed to PW JT9D-15 and then later to JT9D-25W. But Japan Airlines chose the JT9D-49A

They had a louder more high pitched growl compared to the TriStar. I like both but prefer the RB211. Just the turbine sound. love it!!

  • @LaminaDieWills Thank you for the all the great details. I think I'm going to have to agree with you. I do prefer the RB211s, but you know what engine is right up there with the RB211s? It's the CFM-56 on the A320 and the IAE V2500. Right now I'm watching this united airlines 777 incheon take off interesting growl from these indeed.

  • @CHRISGT34 Hm seems you like them Pratts. UA operates PW4090s on their 777s... problematic biatches that they are ¬¬

I for one love the great RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR all 3-spool RR engines since the original RB211 have made at T/O thrust... the Trents on the A340-600 are heavenly.

  • the BA 747's use the same engine as the 767. not the 757. Very similar but the 757/767 engines dont sound alike. the 767/747 engine has a loud whistling/howling noise. the RR 757 is more like the old RR they put on the Tristar and some 747-200's years ago, with that grinding fan sound i love. nowadays they just howl with high pitch.

  • That sound is really cool. The only engine sound I liked better was when I was on a British Airways 747, that was awesome!

  • Funny you should say that. Because the BA744s and BA752s use exactly the same engine. the 744 just uses more of them!
