After living here all my life i can say it is a beautiful city, some boulevards are amazing in the night light. Considering the currents state of development of the city, a lot of people coming in for rural areas of the country, it is an extremely filthy city with horrible traffic and a lot of beggars. If you visit: stay in the center, be good with maps and get used to zig zagging around spit and dog feces.

In my opinion Bucharest cannot be classed as "Little Paris", I personally lived here . More precise I live n the neighborhood named Ferentari ( sometimes called by some people FerenTexas). Ferentari is a part of Bucharest, but I wish no1 to ever come there. I live in a somwhat more quiet part, but if you go deeper into the ghetos, you will see mountains of junk, very very awfull quality blocks, and kinda the most important thing. Dont make eye contact with any1 unless you know him well.
Bucharest has still some parts from the "Little Paris" but some parts of the city are a real mess now because of the dust, it is incredible how much are building the Romanians in their capital! I am Italian and I was there because of my girlfriend... BTW, still a great city and i think it will be very futurist in some time!

No, it is not. Budapest is much prettier. In the past, Bucharest was beautiful too but the comunists destroyed most of its historical center. Today, Bucharest is the biggest tourist trap in Europe and the biggest shit hole in Romania.

Agree the footage presented here is very old during the good old days of Bucharest. Things have changed people, morons are running the country now, and it's falling apart. Bucharest is very crowded, polution levels are high and if you come to visit better watch over your purses or wallets. And if your driving be careful for the dumb-asses in traffic who think they're Michael Schumacher and race all the time ending up into a wall or even worse.

Bucharest was Little Paris, between 1920-1940, in 1947 the Communists cames into power and they destroyed our capital with their stupid projects, they practical erase one of the historical center of Bucharest just to build a monstrosity there, and another old historical center was left in ruin because communists hated capitalist, the capitalist who build the old beautiful center of Bucharest, barely today the council town tries to restore the old centers of this town, to return to Little Paris.

After living here all my life i can say it is a beautiful city, some boulevards are amazing in the night light. Considering the currents state of development of the city, a lot of people coming in for rural areas of the country, it is an extremely filthy city with horrible traffic and a lot of beggars. If you visit: stay in the center, be good with maps and get used to zig zagging around spit and dog feces.

In my opinion Bucharest cannot be classed as "Little Paris", I personally lived here . More precise I live n the neighborhood named Ferentari ( sometimes called by some people FerenTexas). Ferentari is a part of Bucharest, but I wish no1 to ever come there. I live in a somwhat more quiet part, but if you go deeper into the ghetos, you will see mountains of junk, very very awfull quality blocks, and kinda the most important thing. Dont make eye contact with any1 unless you know him well.

Bucharest has still some parts from the "Little Paris" but some parts of the city are a real mess now because of the dust, it is incredible how much are building the Romanians in their capital! I am Italian and I was there because of my girlfriend... BTW, still a great city and i think it will be very futurist in some time!

yep, when i used to live there, traffic jams were very common, even when it wasnt rush hour. Also, they didnt even bother fixing the roads or any broken traffic lights, and the intersections were a real mess. Good thing Canada takes care of its shit.

I live in Bucharest for all my life. Bucharest is no different from any other town of Europe or the world. Yes it has it's dogs (like any city) burglars (like any city), annoying taxy drivers (like any city). Next time you come , try to hire a guide or visit with someone you know. No one will hit you on the street , if your not asking for it and minding your own business. I was a guide for 2 foreigner and they actually enjoyed, and not once being in any danger (even from dogs).

I lived in Bucharest for about 21 years, it's a great city to visit but not to live in, you have allot to see, allot to do, but if you wan't a great hollyday in Romania you should try the mountain's and the Danube Delta.
