To my chagrin, I never saw Steel Eye live. Thanks Mike. You may notice I play within the chord which makes it easier especially if playing in G and C.
If I had my life over again, I would like to learn to play in a finger style on guitar. I very much like your performance here and brings back fond memories of watching the live performances of Steeleye Span
@JackGAdams Thanks Jack. I usually play this as backing and background music when I am telling stories at a nearby castle. The bouzouki is not an authentic medieval instrument but it has that look and sound about it. (If you get this message twice, see if you can spot the difference. - or even three times! lol)
@theloudhalo -Ah now I'm guessing you were a folky girl of the sixties/seventies. I've done this as a vocal and also made an animated version of misty moisty morning with some friends here.
@unrealaldridgeguy - Thankyou for your sympathetic or is it deaf ear. I could not hear a few stray notes. I heard many stray notes! lol I prefer my vocal version of this.
@mommarox2 - Hey Dianne! How did you know I love mushrooms? I have since done a vocal version which was made famous by an electro-folk band caslled 'Steeleye Span'. Weekend was 'weak' (migraine) Hope yours was better!!!
@geoff1945 Our week end was quiet then we got a very nice surprise in the evening, my son Rox stopped in for a few hrs. he had been to Wpg. to pick up his son to take him out to Calgary for summer holidays, I got to see them both for a few hrs. also Rox BD was on the 5th so that was ever better, got to wish him Happy BD in person.
I hope you are over your migraine, they are a beotch to have.
@mommarox2 - Calgary was our first stop when my wife and I visited Canada. we saw the old Olympic Stadium in its snowbound beauty......in the middle of May!
Yes the migraine has passed. I don't get it too often but it is incapacitating...you get so bad you darent try to spell incapacitating!
@tamyk007 Ha-ha! nobody wants to look older than me. You should see the vocal version I did of this song. I don't look any younger but I do wear a pretty hat. Thanks for visiting, Tam.
Thanks for your comment. I wish I had just done the vocal version I put on later, dressed as I normally am when playing the bouzouki in public. I feel more comfortable in disguise!
Be warned my brother in law used to play a greek bouzouki but one day it exploded! It's nice to see someone play the bouzouki and the mandolin it seems to by dying out, I've not played one myself for about 20 years. Looks good, sounds great.

@JackGAdams - Sorry about that Jack. Ex-teachers find it hard to accept rough drafts! lol Trouble is, too often you only see the error in hindsight.

Fabulous version Geoff. I love everything Maddy Prior/Steeleye Span, so this just makes it much more special for me.
